Game types: DeathMatch / FFAAwakening II is a partial conversion for Quake 2 that adds 10 new weapons and 5 new powerups, replacing most of the vanilla Q2 ones to bring a fresh new feel to the game. There are also a whopping 28 new levels available to play on.Capture-The-FlagThe classic ThreeWave version of this game. Attack the enemy base, grab their flag, then take it back to your base. In this variation, you must touch your base flag when carrying the enemy flag in order to score - if your flag isn't at your base when you return, you or your team must get it back to gain points and captures.Team-DeathMatchPlayers are organised into two teams, who fight it out to the bitter end. The team with the higher score at the end of the game are the winners.AssaultThis game-type is based on the Unreal mod of the same name. Players are organised into two teams again, with the aim being for the attacking side to achieve set mission objectives against the defenders. Levels are played twice, with each team taking a turn to be the attacking and defending side. The mission objectives are different for each level; an example might be infiltrating the defenders' base and destroying a vital piece of equipment._ _ _ _ _ _There are four gameplay modes available:# DeathMatch (Free-For-All)# Capture The Flag# Team-Deathmatch# AssaultAll modes apart from Assault can be played on standard Quake2 maps, so you can use the mod straight away with your favourite levels. New Features Features include a Grappling Hook (both standard and off-hand), voting for game / weapon / item settings, various chase-cam views, and official match setup.Turrets can be added to maps -- very useful for team games like CTF and Assault. They can be remotely-controlled by players, as well as being set to automatically track and shoot members of the opposing team.Server admins have been given control over a wide range of game aspects, so you can set up your server just the way you and your players like it. Configuration files can also be executed from within the game, allowing different game types to be run quickly and easily.Servers can use multiple map lists with no limit to the number of entries in each. Maps can be played from a list sequentially or randomly.Operator status can be granted to players so that they can perform basic server and match admin tasks remotely, without needing to know the rcon password.Client slots can also be reserved so that your regular or match players are guaranteed to get a place on the server.This is the standard DM game that we all know and love -- it's every fragger for themselves.
