i usually dont bother posting unless the demo is really cool (like 80% rail or somethin) or im happy i beat a player because im improving (like pyr3x) or the person is just a total douchebag that is more bark than bite (like kyuss)

players screwing around also adds to misrepresentation

and i mean actually screwing around like flarez or haunted do... not that "i wasnt trying" bullshit kids like fader pull when they are so shut down they cant do a damn thing so they start spamming nades to make the loss look less harsh on them

and as far as bonz play goes... it works some times

i play him, i get bored of doing my usually patient game and rush giving away too much for a frag... HOWEVER... if you just play patient, get a rail, and get him on angles hes not expecting... hes easy to pick apart frag by frag and end up with a 20 frag win... he used to beat me bout half the time, then that turned to once every 10 games or so before he stopped playing me and for a few months every time i joined a server he left

Not saying I'm amazing or anything, but I feel like I got a little misrepresented. I mean... I don't bother posting a LOT of stuff. Same with adrenal1ne and playboy. Adren hasn't posted any of the 100 wins he's has on me the past year or two, I haven't posted any of the 15+ I have on him. Even fader/vae get misrepresented... if one of those kids beats naymlis, why would they post the demo when naym runs train on them most of the time....

I appreciate the mature, humble response. Letting your gameplay speak for itself is the best way for a player to earn the respect they deserve.
I have seen all of the demos you linked(including the tlk game); and I'll check out the 2 new ones(I'm sure they are good).

I wasn't meaning to post demonames of players not in the list(with the exception of indisputable achievements like beating someone like Damiah). The demonames were to help us visualize a 'ladder' of how these 8 players measured against each other.
Let me be clear, that this is not about who's slightly better than who, or "I once beat naymlis in 2005", or something lame like that. You are all great players. And maybe you are currently better than Kickro ever was, but you asked for the ranking and I was trying to put facts behind the words.
Perhaps we'll on the servers sometime and see where we fall out.

Which brings me to say that t is a shame that demos are not encouraged to be posted on these forums. The pathetic 300-some demos that are posted here are a poor representation of 6-8 solid servers running 24/7 for years.

havent had chance to play haunted enough, but we perform similarly vs other people, and kickr0 is great too

fairly even group, would depend on who is on their game that day

ryd3l isnt that great just good aim, im 90% sure it was him who kept rage quitting in the last 30 seconds of losing dm1 games for a little while... and slugs would be right up next to adren, but hes lost so much from taking that break to tea bag noobs in cod :/

each of these players has their down falls, they can play yeah, but with some issues

flarez is obvious, he doesnt try... kyuss talks a lot of shit rather than play so he sux, if he played as much as he talked shit hed probably be up in the 4s group... senz is cool but hes so dm1 only and doesnt duel much... and fader is pretty good on a lot of different maps, but his style is pretty brainless and it just takes some patience and strategy to beat him fairly consistently

anyone beyond that i dont feel like trying to number, obviously my list is a little biased towards 1v1 as im not big into teams

the people in this list were mostly taken from other lists posted in this thread, i know there is other good players i could easily fit into this like pyr3x being close to the top with rust shaken off, and players like duokaizane being up there too if hed stop being a noob on mmo games... the active list for players right now is kinda meh, but ofc wild cards always happen and you can get some great games out of the players that would be considered more average occasionally

posting demos of a win is considered shit talk when it comes from a player like me

and im trying to do that much less recently and let my play speak for itself when i can

i demo every match, and screen shot every win, i have over a thousand screenshots, and well over a thousand demos, no one wants to watch me play so there is no point in sifting and posting

only record cause i like to cut out midairs and post em onto youtube

EDIT: f0cus is another one that would be up in that area with adren and slugs not being all noobified by cod... too bad he doesnt play anymore he was pretty damn good

Vae, do you include TDM play in your rankings? Just curious, because I know you hate TDM.. I agree 100% about the strength of being a team player...I LOVE to team with Barton because he's really good about feeding locations, and VERY good about always dropping weapons.

My problem is that I don't have the same kind of loc_here/loc_there capability as everyone else when it comes to binds. I need to work on an alias that allows me to use my existing weapon binds and just hold a button in that says enemy location railgun, -alias bind r urg, or something along those lines. As it is, I have to reach over to the keypad and hit kp_enter to toggle between MY/ENEMY LOCATION, and then whatever key I designated for a particular location. I either remove my right hand from my mouse to hit the key, or I take my left hand from my movement keys, both of which leave me at a half second disadvantage or so.

First and foremost, I have to address erik here.....

It TRULY pains me that I forgot you. Please forgive me, I almost wrote "I am sure I forgot somebody" and sure enough I did. I think you would be borderline scraping that top 20, no doubt buddy, esp. in regard to your improvement curve.

Secondly, dEMON: I don't think I'm better than kickr0. In a duel, since... 2006 or so, we've always been close, him a shade with the upper-hand, with him being a better teamplayer. Nowadays, the dueling is much more equal to the extent that the majority of our duels have been 1 pt games. Team-wise now I'm more experienced than I was, and kickr0 hasn't really gotten in complete shape yet from excessive tf2... example result that I can pull out due to my treasure trove of screenshots(tim=arch, tetra=isbjorn I believe):

Which leads me to vae.... While he may be on mine and kickr0's level in dueling, in particular on his "best maps", he does not have the experience that's needed to be a "good" teamplayer. Hell, he was having more 4-25 games than not til about... a mere month or two ago, and NOW he's starting to be able to exploit the lack of teamwork that's typical in NA. So he's made progress... and v. a good, experienced 4v4 team, I bet vae can play a decent supporting role on most days if he's got a good squad backing him up. BUT, there's too many stipulations in there for me to categorize him with us.

Maybe I did downplay you and should have put you in 7. vae... but, in my experience, the closest person RIGHT below me has always been ryd3l, ever since str1ker left. The closest person in skill right above me, has always been slugs. Slugs ain't up to par right now, I am sure both of us are beating him. But even with him being out of shape, he's like just as good as me at competitive 4v4, or better. He can certainly run quad better...... So vae, are you SURE that you're better than ryd3l? It's easy to have a grudge against the guy from how gay he plays, but the last time I checked(months ago) I saw you saying something on the lines of "Ryd3l will only play dm1, he's a noob, so I don't play him".. He definitely has more 4v4 experience than you... Not sure if he was cheating during that or what, but also I haven't seen him in months. He wouldn't be on it anyway.

Well, I just saw that your list is biased for 1v1, so, as I said then it *could* be right then. But I think most would want these to be an over-all tdm ranking ;>
