pak explorer

hi quakers,
i got a quation about the pak explorer. how can i add textures and so on to a new pak.file. guess it is an silly quastion and very easy to sole but i dont have an answer yet, sorry!

I'm not exactly sure how to do it with pak explorer, but it's pretty straightforward in wally:

You can use the file menu "New" option and select .pak file from the drop down list.

after that you just copy and paste stuff into the window on the right, and when you're done go to File -> Close, to save it with the new changes.

i dont suggest pak explorer pakscape tends to seem a little better to me

I've also been using pak explorer...but the fatal flaw for me is the 8.3 filename requirement (probably left over from q1). It can deal with paks containing files with longer names, but you can't copy/paste stuff in or out of the pak, it throws a invalid filename error.

i have to kinda agree with vae. ive had some bad experiences with pak explorer corrupting whole pak files and having to start all over again, so i would suggest pakscape.

ok found a pakscape, nabbed it up while i had access to my old account. courtesy of https://quake2lithium.com.

Heres a download of it if anyone else happens to be looking. (the quake wiki shows dead links) hard to find
