GOTO Railz - Time Limit?

HI, i don't know to whom i have to send this but, is there a way to go back to fraglimit on RAILZ?  :ohreally:

Its getting really lame in some maps and there should be an option to change that without having to go to the server admin...

Anyone have a clue?

Hi,

A fraglimit/timelimt vote would be neat but needs to be coded (or run a different mod, maybe.)

In the mean time, what do you like least about the current settings?  Timelimt too short?  Too long?  Why is it worse in some maps than others?

Worst thing about the railz server is that on most maps nobody spawns with a railgun.  Some of the maps become preposterous, especially when the server is heavily populated, because you spawn so DAMN FAR from a gun you don't actually get to shoot a single rail before you get fragged.

Surely there's a way of making it so that, on a RAILZ server, one actually SPAWNS with a railgun already.

Is that unreasonable?

I agree... and the grenade spammers too... annoying at times when you just want to go in and rail for a couple of minutes

also, it would be nice to have a change in the map rotation once in a while. mymap just doesnt do it for me

Spawning with a rail gun would sure be nice.  OSP Tourney allows for such a thing in dm or instagib settings.  OSP is completely customizeable in just about any form you could think of.

yes, console, please allow us to spawn with rails, most of us spend half our time searching for railz, and on some maps there is only 1 or 2 rails, and when it is populated, very hard to get anywhere.  Perhaps a delay in the availability of the rail when spawning, say you can only fire when spawn protect goes away.  this will keep people spawning from railing people, since they are technically shielded, this will give them an advantage, but if it cannot be done, still i am all for spawning with the rail.

That's a good idea for the rail at spawn!  :bananaw00t:

To answer to console, 2 weeks ago in the railz the limit was frags, not time. The fact that you have absolutely no control when in a boring map is kind of annoying. For example, I play with PlayerX one on one, we decide to have a blast in 2box6 and we are in another map. Normally i would let him kill me (30- frags limit) and then we would go on the next map. Now we have to wait for whole time to pass.

I dont see the advantage of playing timelimit unless you are one on one, or in tournaments. Elsewhere, in my opinion, it should be fraglimit. And with the quality or players ive seen lately, i think it should still be 30 frag limit. This is my personal opinion, i play mostly railz on this server, that is why it was bothering me hehe...  :eyecrazy:

If there is no perticular reason to keep the timelimit, can we just switch back to how it was 2 weeks ago?

Yes.. the frag limit idea was much better.. you can up it to 40 or so, but a time limit on railz imo is silly.
