I would REALLY REALLY REALLY suggest the razer deathadder.
It's a great mouse. Comfortable to hold, you can adjust alot of things on it etc.
It also got the blinky stuff that modern gamers choose mouse for (it can be turned off!)
And i've heard that it's a mouse used by many quakers!

500 no, mx518 is golden though

the top three gaming mice according to a large majority of fps players (except the nooby faggots (bundles of sticks) that play COD and shit):

Microsoft Wheel Optical mouse

Razer Deathadder (what i use)

Logitech mx518 (very solid product)

out of those three, the ms one is cheapest and has the lowest dpi, it also wont track perfectly at higher speeds but its very well built and a lot of pros use it, the deathadder is in my opinion one of the nicest mice to use, however it is a really fine tuned product and after some use it can start to have some issues (like how mine double clicks, or doesnt click, but it is years old), and mx518 is the mid priced one that has the amazing build quality of logitech with almost as good performance as the deathadder

any of those three mice will treat you great

WMO. The shape is perfect (to me) and it's dirty cheap. $15-20 I think. Definitely I need to stockpile up on them.

id be more than happy to give a WMO an honest shot... but it lacks side buttons and i use the side buttons on my mouse for tdm binds so thats a no go

I don't have many tdm binds, so it's not a problem. Using aliases to allow multiple keys to be used for a single bind is sufficient enough for myself.

I don't know much about hardware, but I assumed you probably don't want a WMO if you play with ultra low sensitivity?

The only problem I have with my WMO model (blue) is that the mouse wheel down activities randomly. It's hardware glitch, I think? In-game it's not an issue as I unbind mouse wheel in any deathmatch fps I play.

Went thru five mx518's. Left mouse button wore out within a month on all of them! Been using deathadder for last couple of years. Works very well but the teflon feet wore down quickly with a textured mousepad.

I've been using the same MX518 mouse for 6 years without a problem.

im off to swap mine for a razor deathadder. the mx518 is too bulky and uncomfortable in my hand

all i have to say is wow. wow wow wow what a mouse the deathadder is. i had no idea how much of a difference a good mouse makes. still gotta get used to it but the shape is beautiful in my hand and was kickin total ass on railz. accuracy is amazing
