The Outer Banks appear to have been hit somewhat bad. The only highway in was washed out, leaving about 2,500 people stranded there until a ferry can be put into service.

By second hand knowledge, Haunted appeared to check into the forums by cell phone, so i don't worry that he is of ill health, but i doubt he has any electricity. Most of the power lines were down in the photos i saw.

Yeah he logged out of irc, well ping-timeout, friday night and hasn't been back online. So I am pretty sure is is without power.

Plus you see those images of the cape? Man the roads are history!

if power is still down to his area, then the cell phone towers that repeat the signals may be off for a bit.

if you have a land line, you might try that. I was tempted to call the place he works and see if I can reach him.

edit: I just called the Marina there. They verified that cell service was still out, and someone said they'd seen his ass since the storm.

I'm good guys, thanks for the concern. Track changed in the last 8 hours / after my power went out... so, I ended up getting around 6.5 ft of tide. North side of the island is worse though.

I was looking at the picture of the washed out road you posted and thinking to myself, "If you had a Dodge Ram or a Ford F150, that shit wouldn't be a problem at all." And then I scroll down and you post a pic of a good old boy in a big red Ford with Confederate stars and bars and a Browning decal.

I got a Dodge Ram 1500 but it's 2wd, I doubt I could make it through sand and water that deep.
