I want crazy dreams

You do know you can learn to have lucid / vivid dreams on your own without taking anything right? You should be able to find plenty of resources / forums online about it.

I've had several of them because I experience sleep paralysis about 2-3 times a month on average. For me it starts out with waking up, but being unable to move. I precieve the room I'm in but it's overlayed with visual and auditory hallucinations. From there I just wait until everything starts turning to black (I also start to feel movement at this point) and then I end up within a lucid dream.

It's quite fun once you're able to get into one, you have full awareness and you can do whatever the hell you want :P  I've even been able to completely stop a dream and create a new one by willing it.

Years ago, when I practiced meditation on a regular basis, I experienced lucid dreams.  It is quite fun.  I even managed to cause my dream "body" to purposely hold my hands up in front of my face so I could see the back of my hands.  It was a requirement for Carlos Castaneda during his training with a shaman (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Castaneda) in "The Teachings of Don Juan"

I think I've only been in a completely lucid dream once. And I don't think I've ever experienced sleep paralysis before. Lucky?  :miffed:

When I find the time, I'll explain more and hopefully enrich your "sleeping/dreaming" experience......if you dare to go there.    :malade:    For now, I go into the night   :smiley_abzx:

I thought this was OOOLD ass thread until I looked up and realized Jager made it August of last year. Damn, times flies when you're having fun.

Anyway.

I still don't see the fatal fascination with wanting to experience your wildest fantasies in a dream. Why not just LIVE it. You only live once, man. Get out there and do it. Well... unless your wildest fantasy consists of driving an Abrams tank around town and blowing up everything in sight like in Grand Theft Auto or something. Don't do that. That's very bad.

I want the machine from Inception.  Control and break into other people's dreams, and control your own in full deep REM sleep. :)

On a serious note, I have had lucid dreams before.  They are rare, but sometimes I "wake up" in the middle of a dream, realize I'm still dreaming and tell myself to go back into the dream instead of waking up.

How I know it was true lucidity is that I remember it in crystal clarity, something I can never do with my memories of a full-on deep-sleep REM dream.  It's interesting the different levels of consciousness we experience.  It's like a gray scale rather than a light switch.  There are points where you can control your dream and points you can't.

Speaking of Inception, anyone ever had a dream within a dream?  I have had probably literally less than 5 in my entire life, and man is it trippy.  You wake up not really sure what part of your dream was the dream-inside-the-dream...or if you're still really dreaming.  :o
