Wii sports sold more copies than all of the listed xbox 360 titles combined

The total number of wii games sold is greater than ps3 and xbox360 combined

Honestly I've never been that impressed with the wii. It's only saving grace is a handful of titles and the ability to play old games on it. But the numbers.. they're crazy!

Remember, the same people who say Wii sucks also say that Wii doesn't have enough "hardcare gamer games".

It's simple math: if GTA 4 = "hardcore" & sells 20 million, there's another ~2 billion people out there not buying it. Sell to them & GTA 4 is chump change in the gaming word.

The rest may be true, but this isn't the complete truth, Wii Sports was bundled with the console. (like the 360's Kinect Adventures were bundled with the Kinect.)

I was aware of that when posting. There are a few things to consider. Everyone that I know nearby that bought a wii, bought it to play that game. Additional games for the wii were an afterthought. That was also true in my case as the games that I purchased after that were:

Wii Sports Resort (27.68 million)
Wii Play (27.38 million)
...
Wii Fit (22.61 million)

Also exceeding any xbox360 or ps3 title. (as well as PS2 which has held the most sold console title for a very long time)

The comparison you make to Kinect is very telling in and of itself. It was invented specifically to compete with the features of the wii that the game in question demonstrates.

I have all four systems.

360 - used most, multiplayer gaming.
PC - Gaming (SP and MP) and multimedia
PS3 - glorified media streamer and a few games (SP only)
Wii - The occasional Super Metroid game.

Actually, I have a Wii.... well, HAD one. We had to get it replaced after it broke. We stopped playing it significantly after we realized that SSBB was in the Wii we swapped.

My sister's got one for her little monsters. I'm kinda surprised at how sturdy the controllers are. I figured with having those ballast motion sensor thingies, or whatever it is that's in there, they'd be a little easier to break. Shit, them kids sling 'em at each other like a couple of medieval maces and they still work.
