Hopefully NADL will push through so we can at least have some closure with it.......eventually....... but, that's not what this thread is discussing.

I want some input on the idea for a 1v1 ladder.

-There will be a time limit and a challenge refusal limit. Something like....if you refuse a certain amount of challenges, then a time limit starts in which you will be sent to the bottom of the list. I have my own idea as to how to do this, but I'd like to see the ideas of others first.

-There will be 3 maps that can change as the ladder progresses. What maps should we start out with? Think in terms of a nice, varied map pool.. opposed to simply your favorite maps.

Most other standard rules would apply. Again, *hopefully* we can push nadl through but in regard to the future, something like this(that requires much less commitment) would be a lot more successful, I think. Plus it would be ongoing... you can leave and come on to this ladder as you please. The idea of an actual, somewhat accurate, ranking system sounds cool as well. Let me know what you think and give me your ideas.

That's the beauty of it... It's a system that caters to NA's style/activity a little more.

1. I don't have to worry about disqualifying people
2. People holding up the league would no longer be an issue, at all...
3. The lack of commitment(come and go as you please) may attract a player or two that wouldn't want to sign-up for NADL.

If anyone has any ideas for the time limit / refusal limit for being on the ladder, I am all ears. And for the map pool.... which will likely have an NA bias to an EXTENT, but diversity is more important.

though... bottom of the list? wouldnt it be more practical just to give the challenger a ff win? that way some one inactive doesnt just CRASH! but instead moves gradually down the list

and what are you thinking? bo5? its not like there is any real time constraints on it... also, admin restrictions might not do so great, so having rules like restricted to tastyspleen tourney servers, or just the nadl server... recording demos of every match with screenshots and posting them in a zip file after the match? would be good to have a thread just for documentation, all conversation/flaming/spamming deleted and only posts with screenshots and demos would be kept (editing flaming posts would be good too if flaming is included in demo/ss posts, just to keep it more casual and fun with less shit talk)

i think including actively played maps is best... throwing in wild cards for something like a ladder seems a little... not so great :/

and having a dedicated irc channel would be awesome as well

Bo3 I'm thinking.

Map selection, I think the idea of a 3 balanced map pool sounds cool.. and switching it up every... few weeks, or a month.

Example combination would be ztn2dm3, ztn2dm2, and ptrip(example I came up with, just because they're classic NA duel maps and I thought it was varied).. then I'd just keep everything saved in a thread by updating the OP with a quote of the maps and the order for that period.

I thought it was a cool idea... Would give advantage to players according to their best map, so I thought it was a cool way to switch it up instead of a best of eleventeen set.

A ranking system like the CLQ would be nice. For example, you could play rated or unrated, and do this ingame with a console command. Making Q2 even more awesome.

I'd like to see some active discussion about possible, balanced 3 map combos before I kick this thing off. I appreciate all of your faith in me that I will do this right and fair(tbh, I bet I'd do it better than almost anyone) but still, lets get some discussion going on in here.
