Adren is sponsored, he plays multiple FPS games on a competitive level, he's won plenty of shit in q2, I've specced him for years now, and he doesn't live to try to win at FFA all day while not using anticheat due to some possibly fabricated excuse and expecting everyone to assume he's legit.

I've actually never seen him NOT use AC unlike most of the people using the ever growing list of bullshit excuses:

1: Oh I started using linux by choice, I can't use AC
2: r1ch lied about something that I can't actually point you to, and this makes his anticheat a scary intrusion on my privacy
3: I choose to use shitty AVG and it keeps deleting my shit, while MSE is just as free and doesn't.
4: I claim I have horrible crashes all day but can't really recreate them. it must be ACs fault, not my OS or my drivers!
5: I've been around for X number of years, so my Q2 word should just be gospel.
6: someone looked over my shoulder once while I played so I'm legit forever
7: It's hacked anyway but I can't provide proof of this.
8: bladyblahfuckingblahetc

The funny part is I don't see many good tdm players making these excuses.
The euros all still use AC and so do most of the better NA tdm/duel players, so I must assume they are doing something that everyone else is not.

Perhaps that something is being legit and not needing excuses.

I think it is fine for you to suggest that everyone get on AC but if they don't do it let it go. It is not right for you to hound or smacktalk people just because they did not do what you wanted. Just because you like PBJ sandwiches for lunch everyone else should not have to eat them. If the server makes AC a requirement then YES, otherwise then NO (suggest then drop it).

I agree with you on this. Sadly, if you consider the fact that I didn't start this thread or publicly cry about the "too many people thinking I cheat" or come on the forum and claim that person X or Y MUST NOT BE A PART OF THE COMMUNITY BC THEY DONT TAKE MY WORD AS GOSPEL, it becomes apparent that I DID DROP IT. I left the server and went to go get food and I really don't plan on playing FFA DM any time soon. His bitching about me is the only reason I even responded to this stupid thread about Punk feeling so insulted.

All told, when the supposed best ffa players out there aren't using AC and everyone condones this stupid behavior, why the fuck should I bother to play that shit anymore?
I've been . . that close to not touching the DM server again all year due to the horrible way that the gameplay has gone.
Back in the day when guys like Ely and Android were putting up tough FPH and giving me someone to hunt down on the server, it was great.
Now it's a bunch of fucking aliases without AC or players who had it before and mysteriously stopped using it, and most of these players camp every lift and chokepoint and just spam blindly making the game retarded and random. EVERY time I go on DM there is at most one other person using anticheat, and 4-5 who have a capable client and just aren't.

Nobody seems to care to fix this crap, so w/e. I won't play it, and I'll stick to getting a duel in here or there with people who respect the game enough to prove that they aren't cheating and those that aren't so caught up in their own fucking self image that they can't handle someone saying they don't look legit every so often.

I've heard tell that some of the newer free versions are either not that configurable or don't allow exceptions.
Skillz was having this problem the other day and we sent him to get MSE instead.

I won't use the AVG, since it's been problematic for as long as I can remember, and as such I can't verify without googling and spending time checkin into it.

1. i do use linux by choice, and i wouldnt be playing quake2 on windows with anticheat if i could work out mouse bugs with quake2 in linux

2. some people really are that paranoid... just consider them stupid r1ch is pretty cool and doesnt need to waste time spying on quake2 players like that

3. when i used avg it was hit or miss... even with an exception over my entire quake folder, it would still grab it occasionally... and some times i wasnt paying attention to the gigantic message saying you dont have AC loaded when i joined a match

AC has been proven to increase the crash rate of r1q2 :/ many players ranging from ones you dont like to even quadz have said this... personally i know r1q2 crashes occasionally but havent taken anticheat out to test it cause idc, but some people might and you gotta stop bitching about some one wanting stability

AVG deletes anticheat.dll from /quake2 every few days or so for me, no matter if I make it an exception or tell it not to or whatever. I haven't bothered to put it back in like 2 weeks probably.. or maybe a lil less.

The last time I played punk I felt like I had a huge advantage in regard to sound/awareness.. I don't think he cheats. Although it is easy for most people to use ac! :>

That double standard you are implying would be that supposedly I dont expect Adren to use AC to prove he's not cheating but I do expect Punk to do so.

This makes their situations NOT the same, and as such they will be treated differently.
