ive had a steady 205-210 ping since the servers changed. before that it was 220 consistantly apart from the time everyone else was having ping issues. but to bounce from 210 to 270-370 seems weird

Probably trans-oceanic cable problems. It could be a router is taking a bigger load or the route has changed. Else, some network provider has opted for a cheaper bandwidth connection due to budget problems. Phases of the moon and solar CME's.
It's anybody's guess as to where you are hopping between xe7-0-0-420.sebr2.global-gateway.net.nz (New Zealand) and ae-2-0.cr0.sjc10.tbone.rr.com (San Jose, CA).

i rang my isp and provided a few traces and they investigated, and have informed me that the upstream provider may be changing their infrastructure and during the process they will route around the changes until they have been able to get them changed.
they reckon a week or 2, then fingers crossed i should be back to normal

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
