I suggest calling your ISP and asking them about it.

if you cannot get out at all look towards your cable/dsl router
you might have that application blocked in there or the ports killed.
or the settings on your firewall too high on it.

which one do you have?
model?

you might have to create pinholes or port fwd to allow packets to pass through on certain ports

I'm work in a finnancial institution so I guess this works with Cable/Dsl actually I don't know how to fix what you are telling me. I'm in a network and i don't have thre privileges to change networks settings.

If it is a business type environment, you're probably better off giving up for 2 reasons:  1) your boss or whoever will be very mad  2) you probably don't have the access required to access anything.

Now I ask everytime I try to help someone if they have a firewall or router, and they usually reply NO when the answer is YES.  and then presume it must be some other problem. KNOW YOUR STUFF.

Do it from a home pc, you will maybe have good luck

just get chummy with the network nerds and have them open up the ports for ya,  like 27910 -  27990
