ok here's the problem when I want to connect to any server to play, per example "connect 194.247.192.43:27910"

that is not the tastyspleen.net IP address. it is: 67.19.248.74 or tastyspleen.net then whatever the ports are. goto : http://tastyspleen.net/~q2tourney look in the servers section, and you will find everything you need.

Thaks bro, but no, it doesn't work at all, i wrote correctly the ip adress and the port but nothing happend, is in the console that i will the ip adress? oe some where else?

take a screenshot of what it is saying and post it here if you can, so we know what it happening exactly. you should be able to connect if you type "connect tastyspleen.net" even without a port then type: GOTO to transport to any of the other servers (technically their all the same server)

it can't be quake 2 causing that problem, if you have a firewall or router, it may be configured improperly to let the connection pass.

That happens to me when I try and connect to tourney4... aswell as KobraKryptic, Reflex and im sure I knew some others with the problem.

what OS are you using?

XP by default will require that you UNBLOCK the needed client port the first time you attempt to connect outside your network.

i dont think a router firewall will stop you from getting out. Windows will however. You dont need to shut down the entire firewall, you need to set it to allow quake to work. Normally, first time you try to connect outside it will give you two or so choices to BLOCK, UNBLOCK, or something else perhaps too. Wish i could remember in better detail.

Please reply back with what Operating System you are using.

i'm ussing Xp pro, where con i unblock the port? the thing doesn't display any option just appears connecting.... connecting... .... ... .

you goto control panel, administrative options, services, select to disable the Windows Firewall Service, then reboot. it's best to leave it off, and get a real firewall, like Sygate Firewall (search download.com) If your still having problems after you've correctly turned it off, and rebooted, then it is not a firewall problem. However, I don't know why it would be blocked, since I assume you probably can access the internet, since you are capable of posting here.

i've disabled the firewall connection and nothing, is there any program that can help me to connect, I mean like gamespy? well i've tried this program but this always ask me about an email adreess , I write it and always says, invalid mail, and I get real mad and I just uninstalled the program, is there any other

gamespy just shows you servers that are available, but if you can not connect to this one, you will probably not be able to connect to others, so it's best to focus on trying to connect first. tastyspleen.net is THE biggest server system for Q2 out there, so your in the right place. There is something on your end keeping your PC from connecting to tastyspleen.net
