Man, very impressive play by zorre.  It's obvious he stays calm/cool in just about every situation.  Very very smooth/accurate mouse movements too.

Isjborne is a really good player, that makes this that much more impressive for Zorre.

coming from someone who has played and watched both of these two a bunch, they are about of equal skill level. Tbh, I think isb could be better, but I'd love to here some euro POV who are used to playing both of these guys on LOW ping... not to mention that zorre had 15 ping, which is pretty nifty

They're both amazing players. Zorre once finished 3rd in an EDL (by walkover though, unfortunately), for your information, and has been one of the absolute top Swedish duelers for many years now. IsBjorn always delivers top-notch stuff in official games, but quite rarely in friendly duels, in my opinion. Last season's PLD (the big annual Polish duel tournament) winner had his ass handed to him by IsBjorn just a few weeks ago in the now on-going EAP tournament. You guys need to do your homework! ;p

In general, isbjorn gives me a harder time than zorre, always has in a duel. I've played zorre a lot in the past, and isbjorn more recently though... which is why I said I'd like a euro opinion. Plus, I'm only used to playing them on tourney4(or older east coast US servers).

Welkin, how do you rate Isbjorn and Zorre against Purri, Damiah, and Dahang when they were active

I still believe that Damiah at the height of his game was the pinnacle of q2. He completely mastered the game more so than anything I've seen, especially comparitively to other time periods in q2... He's the best, although I don't know what he's doing now :>

DaHanG is the best in NA, and a GREAT player of many fps's... He originally started q2 in 2003, at this time, players like Damiah, purri, providor, Lucas etc. etc. and even our homeboy welkin were competing at a high level in those old scandanavian tourneys. In q2 1v1, DaHanG got to the point where he was amazing on a select few maps, in particularly ztn2dm3, by about 2007. DaHanG's ascension as the best NA q2 player in a matter of 4 years is damn awesome, dahang beating purri on lan ztn2dm3 is really awesome as well. But nevertheless, purri has q2 experience / map knowledge that dahang doesn't have. Purri is better than dahang, both fully practiced, imo. BUT, Dahang > zorre and isbjorn when fully practiced / caring about q2.

I saw Damiah (or someone by the name of Damiah) on t4 at least a week ago. He had about a 150 ping and he went 4-1 vs me when he dueled me on dm1.

Thanks for the input haunted, you are probably as knowledgable as anyone from the US concerning these players.  Maybe Welkin will add some to your comments.

Haunted absolutely knows what he's talking about, but of course I would like to add my few cents as well. :p

First off, I can't really say much about Dahang, because at the time I left the game back in '04, he had not made a claim to fame, and since none of the Americans ever participate in the European championships, quite little is known about him outside of the Americas. If only the state of the competitive side of the game in your part of the world would be/have been more structured and organized (and dare I say, if any of the tournaments would ever finish at all), things would probably be quite different when it comes to this. Either way, having beaten Purri on ztn3 on LAN, is an accomplishment - but I wouldn't say that it would be fair to hold this against Purri unless it was an official game (was it?). Friendly games never give you the whole picture, so to speak.

Damiah and Purri have been the most successful duelers during the last ten years, and only a handful of players could justly be ranked on the same level as these two. Besides Syanid and Provi, it would actually be hard to come up with any names. Assasin is a possibility. Some would say Scooby - but what does he really have to show for it? Haunted mentioned me, but my success only covers a few tournaments during the span of a couple of years. I guess what I'm trying to say is that anybody can have a good year or so, with a silver or a bronze medal in some EDL, but Purri and Damiah have been on the top for so long, and sometimes even quite superior, that they have earned not getting themselves compared to random B graders.

That wasn't really what you were asking for though.. So in response to your question:
- Damiah is currently inactive, for all I know, and his recent results haven't left me in awe. I hope to see him back in shape, but right now it's not looking good. He would probably still be able to defeat both IsBjorn and Zorre in official five-mappers though. He might not win every single map, but at the height of his career he would have without a doubt.
- Purri would have no problem with either of them. They are simply not on the same level, in my opinion. If Zorre and Purri played 10 dm1s in a row, Zorre might win a couple of them - but that's one map, and Q2 ain't one map.
