Are all bots detectable now?

I know there are quite a few measures in place and I know there are just good players but I noticed on tastyspleen that there are 2 people that I would say were highly suspicious of using a bot, ex: rails out the ass to you when you are closer even while fighting another opponent or being railed with perfect accuracy jumping around a corner.  I joined up and got a bunch of quick kills off them and all of a sudden they got 1000x times better getting 1st/2nd the next few games and when I went to spectate them for a demo they both split.  "total eclipse" and "E N G O R A G E D" ring a bell to any1?

nope doesn't ring a bell.  if you saw them rail out of the ass, then it is possible they had a bot, and for the corner shots it is possible they have a wallhack.  i have also had people leave right when i'm about to spectate them for a demo.  you won't really know or be able to prove anything without a demo.  so just forget about it until you see them again.  Alot of people use sound to know where people are at, BUT some kills just can't be made with the help of sound, only good old speed and sight, even if they try to tell you otherwise.

Engoraged rings a bell, he was winning on vanilla if I remember rightly, I wouldent know about his "bottage" if it exists, as to be honest id not know what I was looking for, I tried looking for a botter a few times but it just ruins playing the game to me..

1) There is no 100% way to prevent bots.  I could argue this in detail. 

2) I don't know if those two cheat.   I have played engoraged before and didn't have the impression he was cheating in any way.  Seemed like a decently skilled player.

3) As you mentioned some players are just good and in surprising ways.  Here are a few examples:

• Some players are "twitch" shooters with 30-60% rail aim.  So, a no-miss 4-6 rail streak is not uncommon.  You see them strafing toward an item and mid-hop, 180 degree turn to rail direct hit on someone who comes around a corner then return straight mid strafe jump.
• I'm just a "sport" level player and get called a bot often.  What people don't realize is that there are players who I play 1v1 that I'm lucky to get a frag on.  And even they play still better players who they are lucky to get a frag on.

4) If you suspect..  Get a demo while spectating them in first person view.  Keep track of the day, time, and server so the admin can review logs.  Nobody wants cheaters, so you will get help in preventing them.

Anyway, I agree with Defiant! about the cheat comment.

Engoraged goes way back. Him and I have had many games together. I've speced him several times and do not suspect him of cheating. I'm not familiar with the other name that was mentioned.

You can watch just about any player (just pick one), and eventually notice a shot, or action that might make you suspect a cheat. One key is consistancy, the other is knowing what autoaim will NOT do. There are certain things autoaim will do everytime, that a legit player will rarely do, and .... There are certain things a legit player will do that autoaim will NEVER DO. Spotting a player using assisted aim is fairly easy once you know exactly what it will and won't do. Believe me, a 180 fov autoaim would be noticed by most of the server in the first minute of play.

Wallhacks are entirely a different story.

all these suspected cheaters.. why doesn't anyone invite them to join the commuinity and such.. I mean, if we got to know them, we also may learn the way the act and such, and all of the sudden we won't jump to call them cheaters under a hunch.  I can go into servers and pull off a lot of the stuff you all comment on, but no one calls me a cheater..

Yeah, good point. It's always easier to accuse and be suspicious when playing players you don't know. On the other side,in the old gx-scene everyone knew pretty much everyone, but they called eachothers cheaters regardless

And element, everyone knows you bot by now, so noone bothers telling you anymore
