I had the same problem once - it turned out i was inadvertantly caught in a 'subnet ban' (whatever that is).

Hopefully admin can help out. He had to create some sort of exception for me, but now I have a new isp anyway so no probs.

The name "darky" was banned by an admin on 2011-04-22, for a subnet of bigpond.net.au.

If the name was indeed intended as a slur, then I'm OK with preventing its use.

I still maintain, as always, that intent matters.  Nevertheless, the odds make it a safe bet that someone engaging in said behavior is "probably an aggressive social retard."  Occasional rare and specific exceptions notwithstanding.
