Anyone here play any other online multiplayer games, i'm guessing quite alot of people here do. Or is everyone sworn to Quake II and sent there souls to the devil for it?
I also play Unreal Tournament under G^Z (in fact i use that for all games)

I've been playing Unreal tournament 2004 lately...I like the Sniper Servers best.

Gigantic maps and hundreds of hidey holes,and a lot of waiting for the poor bastard to stick his head out and be caught moving.Unfortunatly,there are maps that have special secret tunnels that only those who play them over and over can find that make it unfair to any noob who dares play on them.But don't let that stop you

That,and the Onslaught mode with all the vehicles makes for some good times.I can imagine playing that at a LAN party with 20 people who knew what they were doing... Quake 4 DM already bores me and doing anything with HalfLife 2 is always a big annoying production. Tried Serious Sam 2 co op,but noone seems to comprehend the idea of cooporating:everyone is just running around killing monsters like noone else is on the server...NOLF 2 handled this better.You HAD to cooproate to get through...one guy carries Cate Archer while the others defend you.

My that's a long rambling post! I blame these 6 day workweeks.

yes of course there's another game, its called Doom, maybe you heard of it? 1995 time? gotta agree with the poster above tho, coop in current games is crap its all Everyman for them self and in doom's case "Exit Running" ending the level when most of the players are still fighting monsters etc.

on a serious note, quake4's sp is ok (2nd time through) but its dm/ctf STINKS i feel about 10 stone heavier in that game!.

so for my deathmatch fix its in this order, Doom, Quake2, then Quake3

Right now I play absolutely no other online games besides Quake II. I have played Quake, Quake III, Quake 4, Half-Life (including Counter-Strike), Unreal, Unreal Tournament, and Unreal Tournament 2003 (horrible multiplayer game). I also played a MMORPG for a short bit (http://www.nexustk.com/). At the moment I do not recall any other multiplayer games I played before.

I honestly think I am done with PC games. After this I am heading over to Xbox Live "full-time", but I am not sure when that will be. Quake II will probably be the last game I ever play online on the PC.

i have been playing SOCOM3 lately on PS2. And playing the game of life.

i haven't been playing much q2 lately. Its always at the forefront of my fleeting thoughts, yet less and less is it in my actions. And boy do my abilities show it.

Although, i must say, aprq2 has really helped me get back what r1q2 had been missing in the last few months. Especially since i got the lcd monitor, it had more or less become unplayable, even after mucho adjustments.

Could you explain what you mean by the annoying big production? I haven't played H-L2 at all in any form.

In order to play Halflife 2 you have to fiddle with Steam,which means you activate the game through it in the first place and afterwards download all its updates if you don't touch the game for months at a time like me.And if you don't have broadband that is REALLY annoying.

Ive gotta play half-life, ive heard alot about it but never actually played it. I kinda had trouble with steam tho when playing counter strike. I purhcased a proper copy and some cheeky person who downloaded it used my serial, so it said i had an invalid serial. I'm sure theres workarounds to it tho.

TMF- I know of steam.. and they can byte me. I brought home a store bought copy of half-life and went home to play.
somebody already had my key in use, in order to fix the problem I have to send them 10 bucks, and the cd cover. pffft...

back to quake

steam is versatile though. my friend has like 20 variants of games he plays thru that. Most of which my pc wont even run...

Network - Dungeon Siege 2, Quake 2 with Eraser Bots (not cheating bots, bot as in non player ran person on server), Empire Earth 2, Age of Empire 3, Diablo 2
Offline - F.E.A.R, Gun, Sim City 4 Rush Hour, Medal of Honor Pacific Assult, Nascar Sim Racing

Besides playing Quake 2, I play Quake 3 (Painkeep Mod) and Diablo 2. I play the games whenever i get burned out on one. or the battlenet server get too laggy. I have Quake 4, but I need a better video card to play it.
