Title says it all. I notice it does so after the daily scan i have scheduled.

Not getting any accusations because it's missing but I am wondering why AVG still removes it even when it is added to BOTH the excluded directory AND file list.

I started using Microsoft security essentials since it leaves the ac module alone without having to add an exception.

I had the same issue with avg no matter what I tried.

AVG seems to be the worst for doing this. Some of the newer mcaffee offerings don't seem to allow exceptions that work worth a darn either.

I've noticed that MSE doesn't have any problems with it, as asstroll said above.

I have run into difficulties with MSE and punkbuster, but it was more of a "corrupted packet flow" deal because it was scanning my inet traffic and making punkbusters reporting take too long. At the very least it's not blocking AC when it tries to get out.

my favorite free AV these days is avast

much more light weight and actually stronger than avg while being better about things like anticheat.dll after you tell it to add the exception

microsoft security essentials isnt too bad... but there is just something wrong with you if you want to hand TOTAL control of your system over to m$

You shouldn't exclude the dll itself, just your Q2 dir. Has always worked for me.

Clear your current Exceptions list first then do it like is shown in these pictures:

Done. I've changed my scheduled scan time so it operates while I'm at work. When I come home I'll check to see that it's effective.

Anyway Sigma, I'm afraid this won't change anything. I just did a full System Scan (which I usually don't do) and it moved the dll to the Vault....lol

So I just never had any problems because long time ago I had changed my Scan settings to only scan system folders and temp stuff.
As a workaround I think the best way to scan is to tell AVG exactly what drives and directories to scan instead of using the Full System scan with exceptions.

Having the same issue. Derv was trying to help me with the same issue. Got a new computer, with MacAfee, you can't create exemptions for an entire folder or path. Just the exact file. But, when unzipping the .dll, MacAfee grabs the .dll and doesn't allow an option to allow. So, you can't create an exemption, if the file is already quarantined. Tried many different things, but it is beyond me. Frustrating indeed.

lidz I was having issues with all anti-virus and the ac module so I switched to Microsoft Security Essentials. . I'm not a big fan of ms stuff but I have no issues anymore, plus you don't have to configure anything either.

I'll give another vote to Avast!. I replaced AVG with that one years ago when AVG removed a lot of features.
