WinMX has been officially dead for a while now, there are patches to install which change the servers that it uses so people can still use it.

While I did find the song I was looking for, Frostwire uses java which bogs my cpu down at 100% the whole time Frostwire is loaded. Thats Garbage.

Yeah, that's the one downside I saw with frostwire too. Let us know if you find something better.

I used winmx.The my HD died had like 500 songs . Now I have limewire and have had no spyware at all course I turn it off after I download what i want.I dont just leave it on all the time.

Thanks Solo. I might re-install WinMX if frostwire gives me trouble and give the patches a try. Too bad it had to die like it did.

it is the best G2/Gnutella network client, but the support has died for it, and it has started to stop connecting on some pc's due to unknown reasons.  especially on XP.  it doesnt eat memory and allows you to search as made nodes as you wish, 100,000+ if you like, with no lag.  frostwire is only good because its based on limewire, but removes the restrictions of files and searching a bit.  yes, java does eat cpu, but my 500Mhz pc runs it fine with no serioius lag, sure you shouldn't keep it loaded except to get files, not leave it on to share them.
