The just past EDL final with David vs Purri was quite amazing and entertaining to watch. Did you get a chance to watch it, Welkin? Your own review and insight on the final would be an interesting read. 

Agreed! It certainly was a great final, with a couple of truly extraordinary maps. I must confess though, that I didn't get around to see the game in full until this morning. Writing something about the final would have been a top priority for the blog, if it wouldn't have been for some IRL stuff getting in the way. It seems like the most probable development for The Dredge now, considering my job will keep having me swamped, is for me to find a way to step back a bit, and try to convince someone else to write the weekly updates. I certainly hope that the blog will survive, because I still think it's a good contribution to the scene. I only wish I would have more time for it myself.

Hej Welkin! Long time no see!

The last time I saw you was 03'. You were pretty bored with the q2 scene in sca so I convinced you to join my clan for some active TDM matches at the time.  You of course were a dominant player back then, and I knew of you well. Funny that others in the US didn't know who you were.  But the North American scene really was oblivious to the Euro scene and its great players at the time. They had no idea who I was bringing into my clan (More like ringing for a few months )  Your crazy-ass jumping absolutely dazed us at the time. You made our local jumping champ Flarez look like childsplay.

Its funny because I just so recently happened to stumble upon a clan match featuring me chase-caming YOU the entire game.  I just labeled the demo: Welkin, popped it in the oldschool clans folder and moved on. But now i'm bringing it back!  Featuring: Welkin........HPB!  Kick-ass style.

Good to see you back M8. I read your Blog. Love those Blast from the pasts! Keep them goin'!  I remember all of it too well. Just like you I'm very nostalgic toward the glory days of q2. Thats why it brought me back just a few months ago.  Hope to catch you on the servers! And I'm on tastyspleen irc quite a lot.

Fricking great to hear from you! How are you these days?

Unfortunately the blog has gone into hiatus since I started a new job about a month ago. I've been meaning to make some sort of post about it, explaining what's up and where's it gonna go.. It's not looking like I'll be able to keep writing though, and I doubt I'll find someone else that will be able to (and wanting to put the effort into it).

I would love to have a look at your demo archives... I guess you have alot of interesting stuff there, right? I'm mainly looking for post-golden era demos. Feel free to send me an email at peter at welkin dot se!

Welkin, I'm really hoping that you carve out the time to continue. I like what you're doing. It gives people a chance to catch up who weren't able to watch them live, also i think it increases the amount of duels that can be "covered". Reading an article still gives plenty of time to discuss the highlights and the mistakes. (The bulk of the commentary on a duel anyway)
