Xtife's Half- Assed Quake4 Review

oh i did save up and buy a 3Ghz AMD Athlon, 1GB RAM, 80GB HD, DVD Burner, etc etc...but then my mobo got fried at the worst possible time, so I had to sell what i could piece by piece.  I don't even have a 100$ buffer in my budget.  I got my current pc VERY cheap (50$).  but unlike some people, I support myself...I don't live with my parent, nor do they cover any of my expenses.

thanks for the half-assed review, if they made it for mac osx i would probably buy it and try it - but since they don't, they (those at raven and id) can fuck right off...

pretty nice rig that would be about $1200 cdn i think
i spent around that much this year aswell on new gear

im planning on getting myself a new monitor next, this ones a piece of crap hah

also wouldnt mind upgrading the a few other minor pieces of hardware in my rig and getting a new case
the only things i havent replaced yet are the cd and dvd and they are really out of date hah

two words for you, Stencil Shadows = Pure Rape

without those i can run Ultra settings , but the shadows look lovely.

Cake = Shadows
Eating it = Quake4

Get Cake != Eating it

I hate shadows on quake 2, so i should imagine they suck on q4 too

the shadows are pretty awesome in quake4, you hardly notice them

and why would you want to put your settings on ultra, its only ment for 512mb vid cards you know
im always able to hit the 60 fps cap at high quility at 1280x1024   its awesome
theres a way to uncap, but i had issues, where it actually made it alot slower hah
