I've wanted to put that on there for ages. Didn't realize flash could 'underlay' the HTML like I wanted (turns out an optional window-mode parameter passed to the object makes it obey z-order.)

RailWolf converted the video clip into a .swf...

(I need to add a link giving information/credits for the video.)

There's been a GIF of that floating around the web for a while. That's gotta be one of the top 3 WTF moves in Quake2 history.

It's displayed underneath the HTML, so the worst that should happen is the video would be blank.

But anyway, data like the bar chart on page 24 of this pdf http://laws.qualys.com/SPO1-204_Kandek.pdf suggests that flash is installed on nearly 100% of browsers these days (apple iOS products aside.)
