so... doin some research on the cert im aiming for (more for some specialization in my training and for some fun cause i like linux)
i found out the linux+ exams from comptia are expensive cause they are partners with lpi on it, so when you take your linux+ exams (there is 2) and pass them, you can send your information off to lpi and get lpic-1 certified
and then through lpi with your lpic-1 cert you can send your info off to novell and get novell CLA certified lol
now with all the info i could find... only lpi actually said anything about their recertification policies...
the lpic certs expire after 5 years, and are suggested to be renewed every 2 years... BUT i couldnt find anything on comptia's site about the linux+ expiring, and i couldnt find anything on novells site about the CLA expiring...
DOES ANYONE KNOW!?
id like to know what im getting myself into lol... cause if i can keep novell CLA and linux+ for life, i can just say fuck lpic-1 come five years when it expires XD if they all expire in 5 years then i know i will HAVE to renew them every five years, and if the novell expires in 2 years like m$ certs that would suck
and if comptia's linux+ expires in 3 years like their a+ net+ and sec+ certs that would also suck...
on comptia's site the recert stuff just talks about how a+ net+ and sec+ just switched over and it doesnt mention any of their other certs like server+ and linux+, and on novell's site, i couldnt find anything talking about certification renewal
but i gotta say... no matter what the actual situation ends up... 3 certs from two tests is pretty sweet
EDIT: and yes i know the red hat stuff is more desirable... buuuut i wouldnt know how to go about doing that right now while im just tryin to use as much resources as i can from my tech school rather than doing it all on my own... another question relating to that though, arent all the red hat ones 4life?
EDIT2: ok, so ive just been told over on ocn that as far as comptia goes, CE programs are suggested but not required except for the certs i already have... so that means linux+ would not expire

Quake II is not 27 years old. I refuse to accept THAT much time has gone by.

I was on DM this morning for the first time in a pretty long time. Seemed fine to me.

DM server is fucked. 2 point blank rockets from spawn and lava damage and player survived? WTF?" Also someone has fucked with the spawn points, every single time no matter how big the map you spawn right in front of the person who killed you last
