v_blast skin issue

here's the deal.
Im using the stock v_blast files and this is what i see from some months ago.


i already tried removing all my paks except pak0, used the stock v_blast files from another person and i still see the same blaster in the enemy hand!

looks like a missing file or just a transparent texture... i dont think that it supports transparent textures for that though

try checking through folders not just pak's, and try making sure it is there in the first place, also check mod folders paks and folders for it

i dont have any v_blast folders in my whole game folder. jkust in pak0.
i also made a new pak with the stock v_blast files form another person and i still see the same.

well.... if you put a new one in and its still doin that, then it makes me think something is over riding it somehow...

or it could be something i dont know much about like the md3 file cvar? not sure :P lol just thought id throw out some basics and see if that was the problem

g_blast (not v_blast) skin problem is fixed in pak2.pak 3.20 Quake2 (update) revision and it never was/is in pak0.pak

Even in latest Quake2 3.20 edition on Quake4 Special DVD Edition u still have 3 paks
pak0.pak
pak1.pak (dm maps)
pak2.pak (g_blast and g_flareg fix)

Obviously you're using a brightskin pak. Perhaps the bad file is located within that pak. Perhaps you aren't using an updated vid_ref (one that can utilize PNG format images) along with a pak that has PCX or TGA skins for the player models while also containing PNG skins for certain weapon models.
