it would be awesome if there was just a simple 1 or 0 cvar that would half the res of your screenshots taken...

kinda how you can just hit a check box in fraps and it will record videos at half res...

its useful for both posting purposes and saving hdd space XD

It would be harder than you assume. A client by itself isn't capable of changing the resolution of screenshot, only the resolution of the screen. You would have to have some separate program working with the client to do that. You could write aliases to your config that would lower the screen resolution, then take a screenshot, then switch back to your previous resolution, but I have to think it would take too long for your video card to reload to be able to take the screenshot. If you wrote aliases that could do it properly, there would probably be times when the screenshot was taken by the time the next map loaded and you'd miss the scoreboard entirely.

Why can't you just use Paint, IrfanView, or GIMP to resize it yourself? It takes all of 5 seconds. Resizing screenshots may shrink the scoreboard a little more than you want, but you can also use Paint to clip just the scoreboard part of the screenshot.

hm... maybe some one should write a small third party program that runs in the background to replace the normal q2 screenshot function then XD

cause im too lazy to size down every one of my screenshots, and people constantly bitch about 1680x1050 screenshots lol its not like its TOO big if you have a decent monitor... xD must be people with ancient crt's that are hating on my screenshots

you can do it with photoshop too..
open all the images in photoshop
just record an action (reduce half the size), and then Automate -> batch, and the program will do it for all the images you have opened in it.

You're too lazy to take 5 seconds to resize your screenshots... but you expect someone ELSE to take a couple of hours or days to include some shit in a client that will do it for you? Hold your breath and wait for THAT to happen.

lol i didnt think it would be too hard, and it would be a very VERY useful feature for people who like to play at high resolutions

take 5 seconds... multiply by the amount of times id have to for all the screenshots i post... then multiply by the amount of people that use that client...

it would be a VERY useful feature in my eyes and id rather just post 1680x1050 screenshots than resize them, but people dont like to see 1680x1050 screenshots
