Well, I can't say as I entirely agree, Dukie (and Art). If someone's ass is nasty, it's going to look nasty in those high-rise jeans too. The one advantage of those is that at least they don't reveal five inches of flabby saddle-bags. Then again, when those were in style, nothing else was revealed, either...

As always, there needs to be a happy medium; I would hate to think that someone who could pull off wearing low-rise, hip-hugger jeans would be constrained by the fashion du jour and wear those housewife things you posted pics of!

The key is for people to wear what's flattering to THEM, rather than blindly following whatever trend is out there. (I guarantee you that there is a certain, perhaps small, but that's not the point, percentage of the female population whose otherwise fine...uh...ASSets!...would be completely lost in the pants you posted as the ideal.

That being said, I REALLY, REALLY can't wait for the day when this current trend for uber low-rise goes out of style, and the people who have no business wearing them will stop doing so.

As for bell-bottoms...wow! AMEN! I remember the cuffs of my jeans constantly getting caught in the chain guard on my (stingray!) bike back in the early- to mid-70s. "STUPID bike," I remember thinking. Sheesh! CLUELESS!

As we all know though, my opinion is fact!

As you can see in the picture below. That is one big ass! But in the right pair of jeans, it somehow looks good to me!
