ok so i set my picmip to 100 but then i don't get a proper view of my selected weapon, as shown in the pics below. is there a way to set your picmip high but still keep the original appearance of your weapons

Why would you want to view your weapons? IMO, it just takes up space on the screen.

i like to view my weapons. the only way i know to change it would be to use the bright weapons skins to overide the stock ones but i don't really want to do that if i can get away with it

jehar is the only person who gets away with that shit... and people who run linux and saw jehar's set up on tastycast
it takes a modified client, so you COULD recompile the aprq2 source code after editing it... but its a modified client and flagged by anticheat and such
just dont use picmip lol there isnt even any reason to in quake2

With most computers in use these days, I don't think there would be any advantage to using picmip.

players use it for a smoother cleaner look rather than old low resolution or sharp high resolution textures.... in quake3 and quake4 it actually serves a purpose of better visibility, however in quake2 the textures contract bright skins so well there really is no point...
overall its just a preference, smooth textures that are all uniform, or some maps looking AWESOME while other maps look like shit

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
