so i was just talkin to jkist about what kinds of mice people use...

quakeworld and doom seem to have more logitech and razer mice users and much less wmo users than quake3/live/4... i dont even really know what kind of mice most quake2 players use.... so why less wmo users in the older games?

i personally use a deathadder, i think its awesome except its kinda startin to go out...

I use this same old ass mouse that I had when the game came out. It's one of the earler optical models. Was expensive when it came out.. but it's durable as hell to have survived all of what it went through.
Has a pretty good grip to it. It would feel awkward (to me anyway) playing with anything else.

lol thats the exact same mouse i use duke. it has lasted me about 2 years so far. if it ever breaks i am just going to get the same one. they work well

soo.... q2 is also dominated by wmo mouse users?

i know purri and damiah use it too....

i dont see why people like the mice... the way i see it, basically its just that they are cheap for a good mouse, but a deathadder or mx518 is so much better....

yeah but you're talking about q2 though, vae. this thread is cool for various quakes like you said but if you're talking about q2 your mouse doesn't matter as much (not even close in comparison).

MX518

On my third one, took a break with a g5 for awhile.

They dont break down, unless your cat spills a glass of pop on it.
That's how I lost the first two.

Wiring went bad on the g5 reasonable quick.

i was thinkin about gettin an mx518 but idk how the performance would differ without overclocking the usb port from the 125 default up to the 1000 that the deathadder uses... if i could get used to the mx518 it would be a better solution than my deathadder because the tracking is also very solid and logitech has great quality for cheaper...

doesnt look as bad ass as my red and black voodoo oem deathadder though

I love the mx518. After my first one broke, I bought two so I had one spare just in case.

I've been using a Razer Naga...the MMO mouse with 17 buttons on it. Totally useless for a game like Q2, and I would switch it for my mx518 if I wasn't so lazy.

i wouldnt say TOTALLY useless... i know a q4 player that uses one and loves it lol allows for lots of team binds without effecting anything
