Being that Slayer is the greatest band in the entire history of the known universe, I'll start this soon to be world famous thread with a good cover of Black Sabbath's classic Hand of Doom.

This kid is enjoyable to watch:
http://www.youtube.com/user/bodomcovers09
pick a few from his uploads
edit: not all of them are so great... i had only seen a few of his C.O.B. covers and the racer x one. That avenged sevenfold one is retarded... I was giving a friend guitar lessons about 2 years ago and he wanted to know how to play that song.. took me about an hour to tab it by ear then he ended up giving up. What a useless portion of my brain that song occupies.....
anyway, the kids dedication shows through his fluid, light-handed picking and i was impressed considering the age.

Master of Puppets - Pendulum
They debuted this track on their first stop for the Canadian Tour in Vancouver @ The Commodore Ballroom. Excellent venue. Voice was gone and ears were ringing for days afterwards.

I think this was a track Pantera did special for the soundtrack to the movie Detroit Rock City. I love crazy Uncle Ted, but I like this version much better than the original.

One of the most unlikely covers I would've ever imagined I'd hear in my life. Not too bad actually.

Always knew that Dimebag was a big Billy Gibbons fan coming from Texas too, but never heard this cover until tonight. Pretty good, although I still like the original better. Hard to beat some old pre-synth ZZ Top.
Tres Diablos:
Dimebag Darrell - guitars, vocals
Vinnie Paul - drums, vocals
Rex Brown - bass
Tres Diablos - Heard It On The X (ZZ Top cover)

Damn, did it with a BC Rich Mockingbird too. I can't play anything worth a shit for very long on mine while standing. If you didn't notice where the neck strap peg is located, it's on the back side of that cutaway horn about even with where the heel of the neck meets the body. Because of where it's placed (on the back - to preserve the look of the body - because who cares what it sounds or plays like, as long it LOOKS coolÂ
), the weight of the headstock and neck is very unbalanced. You end up having to support the weight of the neck with your fretting hand while you play, which often makes you play sloppy and tires out your fretting hand a lot faster. Mine's an early 80's model and has the 6-on-one-side tuners/headstock which might be a little heavier than the traditional 3x3 tuners/headstock. If I recall correctly, most (if not ALL) of the US models with a Les Paul style stop bar tailpiece came with that traditional Gibson-esque headstock, while most of the ones with tremolo bridges had 6-on-one-side headstocks. Either the pointed ones with the cursive BC Rich logo, the dual pointed Fender-like headstock with the old fashioned "R" mother-of-pearl inlay (like mine, more wood=more weight), or the customs sometimes had the reverse pointed headstock.
Anyway, I've always loved the looks of the body style, but hated the way they play from a shoulder strap. That's why I always gotta go with a strat style body. The top horn is longer and usually puts that neck position strap peg at about the 12th fret to balance the weight very well, whereas the Mockingbird peg is located at about the 19th or 20th fret, letting the headstock drop to the floor when you let go of the neck. That's just fucking gay. These are things some people (like me when I was 15) don't think about when they go to buy a guitar, and end up regretting not thinking about it when they laid down all the money for their instrument.

Juliette Valduriez - Bark at the Moon cover:

I recall learning that song at about the same age (16 or 17ish), but I didn't play it as well.
