Sticky and locked threads?

Why are there so many sticky threads? For god sakes there are stickies IN THE DELETED POSTS AND /DEV/RANDOM.

And why are some of them locked? Whats the point of having a sticky if you cant post in it? Especially if it's a completely useless sticky thread.

I normally read the forums like this: http://tastyspleen.net/quake/forums/index.php?action=recent

...so I haven't noticed the stickies.

I have no idea why those were stickied.  Maybe moderators occasionally accidentally click "sticky" when they're aiming for "lock/unlock" right next to it, and don't notice?

Did this all happen very recently?  As I said, the way I read the forums I don't see the stickies, so I was assuming maybe they built up slowly over time.

If they all happened recently, then I'd agree there's something peculiar about that...

think over night some one added "Tourney tournament" "Who are you guys anyway?" and "Quake II Server Idea" to the Tastyspleen section

also more in other sections like the Quake section: "MOVED: I FOUND OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO BLOOD" ""Modified Client" kick bullshit?" "bad ping today" "Quake2 - CTF - LithiumII" and "New Maps on vanilla??"

and 1v1/tdm section: "ni-ux OWNS flarez" "1vs1 - daelmun OWNS paradisel0st - q2dm1" "Smiley !"

probably more, but i cant tell for sure, those are the only ones that stood out to me when skimming over the sections i check often for new stickies

It's still happening. 

What is causing it? Most of it seems TDM related... and theres even a stickied, locked, moved thread.

Geeeezzz.... from the web logs I can see what's going on.

I guess it must be finally past time to upgrade the forum software.

That problem where GoogleBot sometimes mysteriously gets access to someone's logged-in forum account, until now, has been just sort of a nuisance.

But this time it started crawling the forums with a logged-in moderator account.

So it's been randomly stickying topics, deleting topics, etc.

Looks like it deleted at least 12 topics... I have the topic numbers from the web logs, they're still in Deleted Posts, but I'll have to guess what board they used to be in.

I thought it was someone being a douche..  so many old threads pulled up and locked.
