Here's a random Q2 question which I've always wanted to ask, so here goes:

Is it possible for 2 players to frag each other with the railgun simultaneously?

I've never seen it happen, but I guess it would be a 1 in a million event - if it's possible at all.

Nope,  this was discussed before.  A few experts chimed in with the code and how it worked.

Even if 2 players fire at the same second,  I think the code deals with one first anyhow, and he/she gets the frag.



Seen hyper/chain kill each other though,  bout as close as you can get.

another question...

I always get annoyed of maps being downloaded even if I already have these maps.
ex.

when playing wodx, i downloaded a map called tltf.
later I played chaos and tltf again downloads.
This maybe because the first tltf.bsp downloaded in the weapons(wodx) folder .

So, what will happen if I just copy all these maps in other mods folders and just place them all at base2?

It is possible however to win a map with a rail shot and still get killed by a rail from another player before the map actually ends :0

maps in mod folders normally override maps in baseq2, so it will most likely redownload again.

It's assumed only maps for the specific mod would be in the mod folder.

To my knowledge the game always looks in baseq2/maps first, if it can't find the bsp in there then it will start to download and create a 'maps' folder in the Mod dir.
So if you put all maps in baseq2/maps then no matter what gametype is set, you'll have the map and it won't download again.

only if the maps are identical.  some maps could be the same name but changes for a mod.  You should do an md5 check on the files & compare that.

sweet. If it happens to be identical in name Ill just leave them in the mods folder.
