My old computer quit working so I took the one I bought for my kids. I down loaded a quake 2 demo added a3.20 patch add R1q2 but now map zethersra1 won't load the message I get is texture incorrectly  filed.  The vanilla server won't load any maps just get couln't load map/map name bsp.

vanilla maps are the ones from the actual game...downloading the demo = not the game...

I'd just redl the textures and maps from this website. It's quick and easy.

I have the game legally. DLing it off the server is better cuz you get most of the files you need to play on TS servers.

Anyway...I don't think iD really cares much about Q2 and Q3 anymore. Both games feel a bit like shareware nowdays.

Note, the xatrix single-player maps should not be downloading from our server.  (Nor rogue, nor zaero.)

(If they are, please let me know. They're not supposed to be.)

Ugh.... It looks like that thread links to a Panjoo pak file hosted on tastyspleen.  If that pak file contains the single player maps, I'm sorry, but I'll have to remove it for copyright reasons.

It's still for sale on Steam.  The last I've heard from id Software -- basically what John Carmack said when they GPL'd the source code -- is that the game assets (textures, maps, sounds, ...) are not freely distributable.

So until I hear differently from them, I'm obligated to abide by that.

lol i dont see a reason in pirating game assets for this anyway...

if its a mediocre game just for wasting time sure, but if you love a game, support it

you can probably find it used some where for like 5-10$ anyway

Why are the zether maps even used? Or more specifically, why is THAT ONE used? It's broken. As in it appears as though he designed it by throwing a few things together, got to the troubleshooting stage and then said fuck it. I think I've played a couple others of his maps. No offense to him, but they aren't very good maps.

I'd like to troubleshoot this... it loads fine for me.  Which texture is reported as causing the problem?

The map itself looks appealing to me, although I've only played it a couple times.  But it's textured somewhat in the style of in2obl.  And it's got some 'secret' routes up to the roof of the map, which seems fun.

Yeah no shit, he used that map as a base. Something that most map authors don't appreciate as in almost every readme file you will see a line similar to this: You may not use this level as a base to build additional levels.
