I think an EFNet chan would be more conventional, since EFNet
is
essentially IRC. There would be more people, hence more people would be tempted to play Quake 2. I just finished searching EFNet's chan list (with topics) and didn't see any channels dedicated to quake2
. I bet if we make one, people would rush in.
Therefore, I definitely think that we should at least open up another one of them channels on the EFNets.

I don't know much about IRC, but EFNet sucks. It lacks features like chanserv, and has a short character limit for names.
enterthegame seems fine to me. I love how fast my connection is on that server.

Yeah the thing is that chanserv is a new feature and is not a part of the standard IRC server. I suppose you may be right: chanserv is important in terms of keeping your channel safe. On EFNet, you have IRC hardasses DoSing you.

no efnet, no quakenet, but no enterthegame. noneoftheabove.
all are shitty networks.
we just need someone with a decent knowledge of irc servers to host one.

I don't think it will attract new players. If it attracts new people to join the channel, they'll probably just show up to troll and act like assholes until an OP has the cajones to ban them after 3 months of daily continuous bullshit.
It's peaceful and friendly for the most part now.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it until it breaks.

Can we ban these bots in DM and other servers that just spam bad jokes non-stop? I tried to join earlier and it took me 15 minutes to get in because there were about 10 of them connected
