Initially yesterday I had doubled his half-mute delay... but I received an additional complaint about his behavior last night, which included the following:

[20:18] <uvula> (xtra) Ashtar: so why i originally came was i had a hard time believing some cunt named senhorita was really a female

So now it's "upgraded" to full mute.

I have forced the name "ashtar" on him.


Almost got to 1,000 names.  Almost. 

The full mute and name ban were lost when his IP hopped subnets.

When I noticed that a couple weeks ago, what I did was to replace those with a longer half-mute (120 seconds.)

I guess, for whatever reason, I don't find his blather particularly annoying on servers like vanilla... I suppose, to use Hitchhiker's Guide parlance, he seems "mostly harmless."

However, I've received enough complaints I've raised the half mute to 300 seconds (and re-instituted the name restriction to prevent spammy name changes.)

Side note: What I'd like to implement, if I had time, is a new mute mode where you stay muted until your frag count increases at least +1.
