What do you do for a living?

Ok guys....slow day today.
To answer my own question: I'm an Install Project Co-ordinator for a large retailer's flooring department.
Whoop-dee-doo
I work with ignorant clients who only listen to what they want to hear and expect their floor to be in place by the holiday season. (Gimme a second, I'm still laughing)
My stress level is high but I make decent coin and get to come home to my Q2. (/self pets mouse & monitor)
What do you do and how does it affect you on a daily level?

I'm a professional ugh, beer drinker. It doesn't pay much, but it's a fun job.
As a hobby, I collect trash. That's where I got both of my computers.
I'm not sure yet what I want to do when I grow up.

I'm a computer specialist. Which means I have time to post here while being paid.

I shoot people with my rotating anode photon accelerator!! I bet you all wish you had one of those jobbies. I'm on my second career after getting out of the IT industry. I am much happier now in health care and I work as an Xray tech at a major trauma hospital. I am thinking about going back to school for radiation therapy next year but the thought of having homework again is frightening!! I am writing from work on Thanksgiving Day!! Sigh, oh well, pretty quiet on the holidays anyhow.

i have a bachelors in business management/science, which also includes IT and marketing specialist under my belt. but after I had gotten my degree, I became disabled and unable to work, so now im just on disability
but before all that i was a carpentry contractor.. it doesn't sound like a fancy job, but it's easy, you actually get a work out, pays good (5-40 thousand for a 2wk-2mnth job), and you feel like you've accomplished something at the end of the day.

i have reached a point in my life where i no longer feel a need to hurt myself to make money. for years i did. 80 hour work weeks were a short week for about half of my life. Even with such a heavy workload, i have been able to fit in a forty hour quake work week for most of my play time while i have played.
Now i am "semi-retired". Which is a term i like to give to myself as i am only 35 and have no savings, yet some debt to pay off before i am truly retired. However at this point i work as a estimator for a large bathroom remodeling company. i basically work six hours a day driving around talking to a few people who want to hand me money. Its incredible. After working so hard for so little for so long, i truly wonder how long this easy life can last. i never dreamed i could actually be lazy and enjoy life AND be able to provide food for my family. Yet it has happened.
i love the q2 game and community and will always do anything in my power to keep it alive and healthy.
i am older then my years lived. a big part of this is giving a misproportionate amount of my body and soul to a job. if you are in this position, or could possibly be in this position ----------- DON'T do it.

I work as a stagehand in local theatres. I am also a lighting designer, and I have a pretty regular gig running sound for a local theatre company. The pay's kind of shitty, but it's fun work. You get to meet lots of
very
interesting people. The hours are also insane, but i think it's one of the most rewarding jobs you could have. You break your back all day hanging lights and moving boxes, and at the end of the day, the show (hopefully) comes together and everybody's happy. Then you get to load all the stuff back into the truck.
Eventually I'm gonna join the stagehands' union (IATSE) cuz the pays a little better and you get to work cooler gigs, and it's easier to get on the crew for a major tour.
The most important thing you can have as a stagehand is a good attitude and good people skills. Getting along with people is what will get you a job in the entertainment industry. No one wants to live on a tour bus for 6 months with an asshole. It definitely takes a special type of person to be a stagehand (take that as you will

Good responses.
Gator: Being a measurer/estimator is good $$. One of my guys made $12k in one month when we had a promotion going on for new floors.
I've been approached by a couple of our Sub-Contracted companies with offers to work for them but they are all out in the commercial areas of the area. I'd hate to have to commute an hour each way just to make and extra buck or two.
Trades are where it's at around here, we have the 2010 winter olympics comming and ppl just want to build, build, build, or they want to flip a couple properties to make some quick cash.
****Story: One lady bought an entire floor off of us for this character home she purchased. This floor is a "pre-distressed" floor that has dents, scrapes, and gouges already placed into it, then coated for protection. She had us install it then turned around and lied to her client and said that everything in the house is as it was when it was built. That all the floors were damaged over time and the client lapped it up, spending, from my estimates, and extra $10k b/c of a lie. ****/story

Like Art, I haven't made up my mind yet quite what I want to do when (if) I decide to grow up but since getting the boot at 10 I've done a lot of diffrent things - not all of which should be mentioned in mixed company....
Currently I divide my time between:
I try to always get a good night's sleep - at least 4 hours a night although I sometimes don't make that many.
Wife, Kids, & Grandkids
Pastoring a church that has an emphasis on helping people & meeting the needs of everyone as much as possible (Matt 5:42-47)
Recording & producing CD's for above mentioned wife, kids, & grandkids.
Admining servers for my daughter's clinic.
In my spare time I play q2 and hang out on q2 forums....
There are other things but those are the ones I spend the most time at.
