Help?

Hi, everyone! I'm Vicki. I'm quite new to the Tasty Spleen forums (I just registered, in fact), but I'd say I'm somewhat of a regular on the Tasty Spleen Tourney Servers, 1-4. Anyway, I kind of have a problem: None of the Tasty Spleen servers show up for me anymore, nor can I just type "connect [address]", and manually connect. I think I might know what this has to do with, though; I was on both Tasty Spleen's Tourney and Tourney2 servers, testing out new team binds that I made with Q2Text14, and when i pressed on the keys I had binded my team messages that, again, I had created with Q2Text14, it said something along the lines of "<i>vicki vicious: dropped</i> ... (something, something) <i>attempted command exploit</i>". I have no idea what it meant, but when I refreshed my server list, none of the Tasty Spleen servers appeared, and haven't since before I attempted to test my team binds. At first, I even thought that I had somehow singlehandedly crashed all of the servers, and I hope that wasn't and still isn't the case. I really hope I didn't damage any of the servers in any way, and I'm very, very sorry if I did. I would like to also say that I was not trying to cheat in any way, I swear. I have no idea what I did, and hope that the Tasty Spleen servers aren't down because of me, and that I'm not banned because I spend most of my time on those servers!

So, please, if anyone can help me, I'd be really, really appreciative.

P.S. Oh! And just in case this could be of any more help to whoever tries to help me, here are the binds that I made:

Doesn't sound like a ban to me. Exactly what happens when you try and manualy connect ? Here are three of the tourney adresses in case you lost them.

Tell you what, try and conect to each of these q2 servers and see what happens.

When I try manually connecting to the tourney servers, it just keeps repeating "connecting to [address]..." over and over again, not actually connecting to the server ever. I've already tried just waiting it out, too, but to no avail. As for the servers you wanted me to connect to -

The first two:
67.19.248.74:27930 
67.19.248.74:27931 
were no good and, just like the tourney servers, kept repeating, over and over again, "connecting to [address]..."

The last three, however:
66.165.126.200:27910 
67.19.248.74:27910   
64.49.228.45:27910   
worked just fine, thank you.

The last server address, I think, was one of Tast Spleen's because I was able to type "goto" and saw that all of their servers were still up, and had people playing on them.

Please help! I don't know what to do!!!

I think I know where you going with this; are you suggesting that those servers now require R1Q2? I just tried that server, and like the others, it just repeats over and over again "connecting to [address]..."

It would make sense, seeing as how I don't have r1q2, but instead use q2a.

Hi,

Strange... could you try connecting to tastyspleen.net:27912 ?

If it's just the OSP tourney servers you can't get into, you might check whether you have your 'password' cvar set in your client.  I've had the OSP servers refuse my connection when I had 'password' set (even though the server I was trying to connect to didn't need a password.)

Otherwise, it's a mystery.  We don't require R1Q2 or any particular client, nor does your IP show up in any of the ban files.

But let me know if you still can't connect and we'll think of what to try next.

I have this problem when im trying to use r1q2 to get to tastyspleen servers.. they dont show up and same thing happens as vicki... strange...

And nah.. you wouldent cheat would you? your just good lol

That definitly sound to me like a blackhole ban....which r1q2 will automaticaly do if it detected that you were doing something to exploit the server

if console does a "listholes" in rcon, or from the console he should be able to see if your ip is on the blackhole list

Indeed.  That's the first thing I checked.  Unfortunately, I checked blackholes on the wrong server.   

Yes, vicki was blackholed on the tourney servers!

Vicki, the problam appears to be that one or more of your new binds contains the character 0xFF (255), which is not allowed to be transmitted to servers.

If you edit your binds to remove that character, you should be OK.

Aha.. you are correct! well.. sort of.. i mentioned it and thought it was solved but it wasnt, i just switched to q2advance.. i want to switch back to r1q2 tho :\
