I currently subscribe to gmail, and have an account with them by luck only and a little hard work. for those of you who don't know what gmail is, i'll explain. gmail is simply a email account system setup by google.com , the catch is that google only gave email accounts to only a select few people, around 2,000 i believe. The only way a person can get gmail as of now is by getting an invite sent to your email address by someone who already has an account with gmail. each gmail member is only allowed to issue 19 gmail invites. I currently have 9 gmail invites left =) but I have no one to give them to, so if you want an account, post a reply with your email address, why you want gmail, and pick a number between 1-10

email capacity: 2.66GB
perks: email search, very elegant easy to use, clean, everything-right-there-where-you-need-it. , lots of available user names.

P.S. to those of you who don't really care, i'm one step ahead of you, so here's what you don't do....DON'T SPAM THIS TOPIC WITH STUPID REMARKS OF ANY KIND SUCH AS 'SCREW GMAIL, UR LAME' 'WHO THE HELL WOULD WANT THAT' ETC ETC. gmail is only desireable because only a select few can have it...for now.

Uhm, more people than you think have it, I personally have 100 invites that I can give out, plus you can sign up for it with your mobile phone. There is nothing exceptionally amazing about Gmail, even yahoo gives 1GB with there free mail service, and AOL just started giving email service to AIM users with 2GB for free.

I have 4 Yahoo's, 1 AIM, and 1 Gmail. Out of those three providers, I see nothing special about one or the other. I even have a Yahoo Japan email

i like pop myself

i use thunderbird
great thing about gmail is there spam filter actually works
i have posted it all over the net since iv had mine and have yet to recieve any spam

well, gmail is convenient also, since i do alot of googling. and it is true, their spam filter works great, and if you do recieve 'spam' like stuff, it's only text based. also their layout is very simple and convenient. it's nothing super special, just better than all the others.
