half beat strafing possible in q2? lol

:/ hm... guess its just cause im only ever on duel maps but i cant get a sufficient distance to test half beat with how bad i am at it xD

Just try some of JUMP maps, like ddrace or fly (fly1 fly2). There is a speedometer, so you can see if you are going faster or not. But i can garantee, its not as easy as it may look...

yeah lol i spent a few hours learning how to in q4... q4 strafing is closer to q2 than q3 is

once i got it down i could do some pretty large gap strafe pads not quite as much as i could with double beat strafing though

As i noticed, the players start with a  full beat strafing, and after they get some speed, half beat strafing is that thing they start using. So you must combine those both strafe ways to succeed

the way ive been doing it is ill do like a circle jump to the right and swing all the way around to that 45 degree angle to the right and then ill half beat from there... that way you get a full circle and one normal strafe to your right to get initial speed, then you can start doing the half beat strafing

you can use the same sort of technique used in hb speeds in q2 for ice watch some goblin or luum replays in some straight ice bits so see something really special
