NADL season #2 sign-ups

im not too familiar with leagues 

what is the advantage of running group staging kind of stuff instead of just a 32 man double elim bracket?

and how exactly do group stages work if you dont mind me askin lol simple question

in a duel league, the group stage or round robin would consist of multiple groups in which each player in the group would play every other player in the group and gain points based on their performance.

once they've played everyone in their group, the 2 or 3 highest scores in each group would advance to the next stage and be placed in a small double elim bracket. The lower scores would be out at this point.

This would allow people to play at the very least, 5 different people instead of having the possiblility of being knocked out after playing only 2 opponents, like you'd see in a full double elim situation.

It allows for a player who's beaten enough people to advance to the winner bracket final, even if they have lost a matchup against one player during the tourney.

The only differences will be that the groups will be based on skill level this time around, where last time I think they were pretty random. (everyone in my group was waaay out of my league)

(check the stats if you want a good laugh at me for having the lowest stats of anyone who showed for every one of their matches)

lol if the groups are skill level this should be fun haunted is organizing it and swears im a noob think ill enjoy this for the first bit

Alright, we're going to cap sign-ups at 28. This means that there's 1 spot left. I'll start a waiting list right afterward for anyone who is a no show, but sign up now while you still have the chance!

The config for the server will be similar to the SG one, however allowing brightskins. You'll know exactly what you're in store for once we get the servers set up, which should be within a day or 2! I'll keep you all posted with that. As soon as sign-ups totally fill up, I can post the group stages.

I haven't used them for awhile now.. that tourney was still an ouch for me though
