Thoughts on it? Trying to make an inspiring video that makes people wanna play quake, Then spread it like crows moms legs.. Should I use this one? Or make another?

editing is poor, she doesnt cut when she should, sticks around too long after frags and shit, ruins it completely imo... and it was just some old demos, mostly of when i just started playing rdm2, i have archives of sweet frags time stamped in demos if i ever feel the need to make a good frag movie myself, havent done any video editting for years though so meh

But regardless of if you don't like it, everyone is entitled to make and share their own. Doesn't really matter though. I don't think he was going for grade A professional frag video. To each its own though.

I agree with Vae's constructive comments. Most of the frags in the video are not that interesting, for the reasons he said. He said my biggest gripes, which are:

-The people you were fragging had mostly bad movement, so quite a bit of the frags are not impressive.
-Match1 and the other random map don't show much interesting frags, because match1 is spam and the other map is too huge.

Another reason why the frags aren't too interesting is because there's not enough weapon diversity, although that's because of match1 and the other map you played. I wouldn't worry too much about music. Whatever music you choose is fine, as long as it's not loud and obnoxious, because there will always be someone who doesn't like your music selection in frag video.

everyone is entitled to express the game in their own way. I agree with music choice, no two people have the SAME exact music taste so that isn't important. I know my video editing skills are nothing to brag about, and i never claimed that the frag video i made was extra special. I was content with it and at the time, he did seem fine with it as well. Doesn't really matter now does it? I want to make more, but learning a program you've never used before takes time, and I have learned a lot more about video editing since i made the once mentioned. ANYWAY. I think criticism is fine, no need to bash someone on their attempt to help out the community, should be encouraged, not completely torn apart. I dont think he was hurting anything in any way by making a video. Just saying. It's fun to make something your proud of, I'd suggest that everyone try it. More word of Quake 2 gets out there, maybe would could get some really fun things stirring up around here

I mean I completely understand what your saying vae really i dont need you to explain it. Im sucker for good air rockets in frag movies that make me go WTF GTFO YOU DID NO JUST PULL THAT OFF. I mean, and this is my own personal opinion, cress may correct me after, and in that case ignore this. But I don't think he was going for an OVER the top epic frag video, shit like that takes time and effort and talent. Hard for a beginner at editing videos to pull off right off the bat. I'm sure you have a bazillion demos you could look through. and Im sure he does too, wasnt like he spent a month producing it. He was just showing the game as it is. Maybe we should just all submit time stamped demos with some nice frags and do like a community video making thingy mcbobber, idk. Can't hurt anything. More exposure, its fun to do.

I guess its the persona enjoyment in making the videos but whatever. I just enjoy making them, i find it fun. No where good at it. and I'm a useless noob so i never get a good frag. But making a video is fun and exciting. All in the eyes of the beholder i suppose.

I never claimed to being good. Of course there was a time where i wanted to get good. And was constantly thinking of the score, and getting mad when i lost. Took all the fun out of it. I just play to hang out with people, shoot some stuff, whether it be other 'usless noobs' or not. I enjoy the company of people whose moods don't change every two seconds. Just have good games, chill on vent, fuck around. Its what a game is suppose to be fun. getting good would be a plus but i don't strive for it to prove something to someone. And thats how alot of people see it. Just for what it is. A game. Despite what you believe.

I was gonna write alot but it's not worth it cuz you'd ignore it and pick apart pieces that mean nothing. I'm gonna stop posting here now cuz the topics gone off, and cress go ahead and delete any of this.Thread kinda got hijacked, and thats my fault. 


but seriously, back to frag videos, would anyone else like to do a little community frag video (not movie cuz obviously that implies an oscar worthy video)? Showing off your play style, or your paks you've made, or trick jumps whatever. Would be cool to see people put together some stuff, whether it be of you, or other people.  Help get the word out there of quake 2, and events we have around here. Get the community flourishing maybe get some stuff going around here? i hear people talking about it all the time, so why don't we do something about it

you dont have to be good at something to get the community together to have some fun, share ideas, frags, and stuff, to promote something. Just people enjoying a game is promotion enough But think what you want
