If you want the overrides removed from tastyspleen, just say so.


Basically, if she wants her overrides removed, I'll delete them.

Frankly, it's beyond my comprehension why she should be so outraged that her overrides would be included on a server where the map list is democratically chosen.

Hint: If people want your overrides on XTRA, it means they LIKE them, not that they are SHITTING ON THEM.

Yes, I received it too.

I told her I will delete her overrides when I have time (probably this weekend.)


Going forward, what I plan to do is write a random override generator script, which takes as input a list of locations where armor, ammo, and other items could be placed, and randomly distributes items, weapons, and armor based on probabilities.  Like, this map should have 1 railgun, between 1 and 2 super shotguns, between 1 and 2 traps, etc.

The script will also make appropriate tweaks like changing the AQ2 swinging door types, into sliding doors, etc.

Then I'll generate random overrides to replace all spawngirl overrides.

Obviously the random overrides may be less than ideal, but, anyone who wants to will be welcome to start with those and tweak them to make improvements (or just make their own override from scratch if they want to.)

But at least the random overrides should give us a starting point, and result in maps which are still playable.

I was curious about why you quoted the nytimes for a definition of narcissism so I followed the link. That's an article about Mel Gibson. However, you can very easily apply all of his comparisons to any Hollywood actor. I'm not defending Mel Gibson. He's obviously bringing all of this on to himself. I'm just saying that the article itself is an obvious fluff piece devoid of any interesting insight.

Remove mel gibson and insert Kate Gosslin, or Jessica Simpson, or Briney Spears, or even reach back and insert Desi Arnez. The majority of the article is just describing the fate that is the Hollywood actor. They remove the concept of being an incomplete person seeking companionship and replace it with their own fame and ego. When that person gets in the way of the career or the ego, then the relationship is what has to give. Every actor gets divorced at least 3 times and/or cheats at least once.

Off the top of my head, I only know 2 celebrities that were never divorced. Perry Como and George Burns.



Anyway. That's my little rant on Hollywood. It's stupid to waste an article calling one actor narcissistic when there's hundreds more that fit the bill.
