My sister recently broke her laptop screen as well, typically computer service stores that do laptop repairs can do screen replacements.

Best I could find are laptops of the same model "for parts only" which I assume already have broken displays (common). If I find one with a "working" display, I wouldn't expect any guarantees.   I will continue my search. I found this place, looks like steal! http://www.screencountry.com

My cousins screen split just right of center from top to bottom from a roadside IED in irag,  Still worked ok,  just not very pretty.

I've read many reviews praising screentekinc.com, but I think I'll save $100 and get a replacement at screencountry.com
