Ive had this packet loss problem for two weeks or more now. I waited to see if it was going to go away, yet it hasn't. I was hoping someone would have suggestions or ideas on what is causing it. I can't play on Mutant Railz DM Vanilla Tourney servers. The only servers that are playable are the Assasin server's and maybe a few others. I will add screen shots to show you just how bad it is. Hopefully a solition to my problem can be reached, or a reason to why my pl is so bad.
The screen shot of ztn2dm3 shows the previous servers paket loss and the new Netgraph is from Assasin CA . Any help would be appreciated

if u play ok on other servers , then it must be an issue with regards to your route to the laggy server.

I've been having some bad packet loss to the above stated servers aswelll. Worse than that, makes it frustrating to play. This happens every once and a while, some weeks I'll have shitty packetloss, then the next it will be fine

Sucks In FFA it just messes with my AIM cuz everyones tweaking around skipping in mid air. But haven't dueled cuz packet loss drops sounds and stuff so i cant do it.

But as long as it doesn't get this bad again.

I'll deal with it.

I have had some days where my netgraph's have looked almost as bad Erica, not quite as bad though . From what i gather there isn't a hole lot one can do to fix pl other then new video drivers proper config setting's etc. I wish i could play with a smooth connection on a busy server

I play on wireless which also contributes to my pl, but i usually can over look that its not bad 4 or 5 lines throughout the screen.

There's always the possibility that it's coming from something on your machine. I've had a nasty virus/rootkit for the past several months that's caused some horrible lag. Tall green spikes every 1.5 seconds with liberal servings of 10 to 20 second completely red big fat bars. Turning off and IM's, mirc, and closing any open web browsers might help. Anything that might possibly be receiving data over the connection. This includes any automatic OS updates and AV programs too.

Today I've been having gigantic packet drops where I'll be frozen in the air for like 10 secs. It is really getting annoying, as are the lag spikes.

I never have too bad of packet loss. If i do its an EXTREME rarity. Guess its just you

Been having those issues lately too though not as bad as Slayers. Get alot of it when I start a map in the very beginning and then I will run into a quick jerky motion along with the ghost player lag spots. I feel like an HPB ha.

Hi, please post some traceroutes from your end.

From the server side, to your IP, it looks like it may be the border router between ntt.net and theplanet. (Again.)

But, I will need traces from your side as well.

Its most likely juts a bad route, i had a huge problem to the tastyspleen servers before also, and it just went away after like a month when the bad hop was finally fixed...

About all you can do is wait unless you want to spend a long ass time finding out exactly which server is causing the problems and call em up and complain... at which time you will still have to wait about the same amount of time anyway

lol..... i've played tournament league matches with 10x more red lines than what misery calls unplayable. I'm assuming you took screenshots of the worst of it, that's seriously not too bad man. Must be nice to be used to perfection though

yeah... what misery screen shotted isnt all that bad... like 2% packet loss or so... very annoying to play with and you cant play your best but definitely not unplayable...

stuff like instagib and such that dont require much thinking should be fine, you wont get as many frags as you would without it due to the +attack packets being dropped... and you wont see a lot of rails rendered because of those packets being dropped... but overall you should still be able to do pretty good... and for normal ffa just spam more explosives or something lol
