what really gets me cranky is that all the good players like vigilante on railz ect spawn rape. They are that good they don't have to spawn rape to win yet they all seem to do it. never understood it.

I don't understand your compliant.  That is the game, and you can always do the same thing back.  Spawn raping is a skill in itself, and it's a large part of the fun in my opinion.  As for the BFG, are you saying he shoudn't use good tactics?  If there is a problem specifically, the game should be changed, but that just seems like a good tactic.  The other option would probably be to take that gun out of the map/game.

Apparently you didn't understand that I wasn't making a complaint about the ability to use the BFG or to spawnkill.

Your assumption that the "tactics" are good is based on one thing, and that's your opinion that the score at the end is the ONLY reason to play q2.

If your concept of fun involves getting frags on people who are defenseless or who are possibly AFK, with no amount of challenge to yourself, then I'm sad for you. That's not fun, that's just ego stroking for people who obviously don't get enough frags in otherwise to prop themselves up in their feeble minds.

He's good enough to hit the DM fraglimit first every time while not spawnkilling unmoving people with rg and spamming bfg like the lil kiddies on vanilla who have no aim. He can do it without quad too, but he chooses to run it even when there is no one anywhere near his level on the server at the time, or even worse, a low server population at the time.

Intentionally shooting freshly spawned people to keep your FPH up, who are standing on the pad for 2 seconds looking at you, while other people in the same room are actually moving around and trying, is fucking boring.

Running to get BFG because you ran out of slugs after not dying for like 3 minutes then blindly charging in and spamming it at the floor in the area that you know from years of experience has the greatest number of spawnpoints in it's vicinity is similarly fucking boring.

He has skill, and probably has more high FPH games on the DM server than anyone, and yet he chooses the easiet way to get frags which is boring to watch, and moreso when you know the person can do it in a much more impressive manner.

Would you want to watch demos of someone like Dahang play duels on dm1 and constantly +back, hide at upper rl, and spam rockets? I'd bet he can rape pretty much anyone doing just that, but it would be 2 things:

1: Boring
2: Gay

This isn't tdm or duel. He's playing FFA vs newbs.

According to you, shooting someone who's not as good as you and who is unarmed and unmoving IN FFA (when you probably didn't kill them to get them to respawn) takes skill now? What the hell have you been smoking?

That's not fun, nor does it require skill. There is no challenge at all.
It takes no intelligence to see someone spawn and rail them, and it takes less to kill someone who's standing there for seconds after the spawn doing nothing, as can be seen in the demo.

Likewise shooting the BFG at the ground in a crowded room takes pretty much no skill. You don't have to aim real hard to hit the ground, and picking up a BFG on dm4 can be done by a blind chimp.

four points:

1: Your idea of what is "smart" is fucking stupid.

2: You aren't even arguing with things that are being discussed.

It takes no skill whatsoever to stand behind a spawn pad or in front of it and shoot. that's why i was a bit dissapointed in vigi winning the last ir500 because all he did was stand behind a spawn pad the whole game. it takes no skill at all. And i will also add the other day on railz both vigi, lethaman and elysium were there, and elysium was spawn raping, so vigi goes "elysium is here so i need to spawn rape" so this indicates c;learly it is alot easier to spawn rape and get a cheap frag then run freely around the map shootin at people

i like getting spawn frags its pretty fun to keep some one so completely helpless by killing them every time they spawn before they have a chance to move, however i dont camp spawn points, i just know the spawns and am accurate with flick shots

I have had close to if not over 200  wins on railz FFA on a 220 ping in the 4-5 months i have been on ts servers, and not once did i have to spawn camp to do it, its simply not the way i play. I know i hate getting spawn raped, thats why i don't do it

i play the same in ffa no matter who i am up against, i don't mind losing, can't expect too much playing on a 220 ping from the other side of the world.

there is a difference between spawn raping and spawn camping... spawn raping is fine imo fun to do, takes a little bit of skill, gotta know the spawns and shit, really awesome when ya get a few in a row in 1v1... spawn camping though is what noobs do in ffa where they crouch behind a spawn pad and just rail anyone who spawns there -.- that is annoying and the stupidest tactic ever... but then again, ive never lost to a noob doing that so meh, its just really annoying... once you get a dif spawn, go kill em, then spawn rape the fuck out of them for being an idiot

I think Tasty DM has a 2 second invul upon spawn anyway so not much of an issue. Although there are a fair few noobs who do stand around like they're waiting for a bus.

As for Quad timing, well i've already voiced my humble opinion the DM Server Suggestion thread. Just get rid of Quad completely and it makes for a more enjoyable game. Apart from Elysium and a couple of others, most other players tend not to use it so what is the point of having it anyway?

Either way, DM1 with a Quad right in the centre on the arena is just a complete fail.

Yet again, you've missed the point. Nobody was talking about spawnrape on a capable opponent in a 1v1 or team game. We were talking about spawn killing people who are standing still or afk in an FFA game, because unlike in a duel or team game, it takes NO skill. All you have to do is have a weapon, aim better than the blind, and be there when it happens.

You don't even have to kill them yourself to get them to respawn. At that point it ceases being spawnrape and reverts to just being spawnkilling to boost your FPH.

Anyone who is actually skilled at this game could get the fraglimit on the FFA servers without spawnkilling, even if someone else was doing it.  Most frags is not the goal in an FFA game anyway. It's highest FPH. If you can't keep up a good FPH without killing people off of the spawn who aren't even moving, then you aren't skilled and your play is fucking boring.
