heyas

was wondering if the admins here at TS would be interested in setting up a stats and ranking system for players on the tastyspleen servers
each server would have its rankings, and there would be a global ranking for all server , then each player would have there stats page where it would tell them there, frags/deaths/time on each server, frags/deaths/time globally ... average FPH, kill vs. death ratio, average accuracy with each weapon, average accuracy with all weapons, how many frags they have with each weapon and so on

Would be a stupid idea, because people could just sit there and kill there friends n shit so they raise their ranking.

im sure there would be a way to prevent that, or they could just reset it every few months

rofl, reseting it would do nothing, and no, there is no way to prevent it. there was a site like that couple years ago and thats exactly what happend and they couldnt stop it, if they did, it would have to be a server where people are always at, like *=DS=*EdgeMadhouse*=DS=*.

well maybe this is a good time to setup some sorta of little kids filter
heck i just came from a game on vanilla in lab with infinite ammo and powerups and bfg, it was a huge whine fest

no offence to the admins and stuff, but i really dont see alot happening here

might be fun, but the CLQ had alot of issues wuth their rankings a fews back, how you were ranked depended on how much you play, those who played late at night could really pad their stats by playing noobs like bloflo' abd coldjob.

might be fun tho' - there are ways to do it....

Well +ia can be used only once every 2.5 hours... (You sure BFG was on? Quake2 disables BFG when +ia is set.)

Anyway... Really, we try to avoid being one of those servers where people get kicked just because the admins "don't like them".

i think there needs to be more stricter rules in place
so these people, dont ruin everyone elses fun

and yes, i did see some bfg shots go off in the crazyness

If it gets to be a problem having people raise up their stats in that manner, then I guess you could somehow make the stats private. I doubt someone who sit there and let someone kill them so they can help them raise their stats, since they will be hurting theirs at the same time.

If only I knew how to set up stats...Would have done it long ago.

are these people really that immature? this is what i mean that these people are ruining the fun for everyone else
and why the admins need to do more to stop this crap. heck i would even volenteer and do my part if i could.

dont get me wrong guys, i think it would be wrong to kick or ban these people off the servers
but there must be something we can do to keep some sorta order here, and be able have features such as a stats and rank system and not have these people exploit it

and who cares if people n00b stats to look better.. if being #1 is that important to you.. then you're probably one of the ones that would n00b to get a higher score..

i would like stats, rankings generally mean jack shit if they arent enforced (and i suck anyway), but stats always kick ass... esp if there was a way to record accuracy and whatnot (like it does on osp).. avg frags per hour and stuff, that would be badass

thats where i got my idea from
cs has always had stats on servers

and you could just type /rank or /stats_me to see them even from within the server

Has it been said. Why dont you get a client side stat thingen ?
I think stats suck maj0r. who cares and why, what and when. If and then, elso what ,who....
