Weird kick messages...

On several euro servers that I sometimes play on (and they have forced anticheat) I will start skipping for a moment because of my lag and then I get this message:

7=Eternity{FLP} is using a speed cheat q2!
7=Eternity{FLP} is using a speed cheat q2!
7=Eternity{FLP} is using a speed cheat q2!
7=Eternity{FLP} is using a speed cheat q2!
Eternity{FLP} was kicked
You were kicked from the game!
Disconnected by server!


And recently I got this message:

Eternity{FLP} IP: 129.137.179.205
Response Test Failed
You have been kicked Eternity{FLP}
Eternity{FLP} was kicked
You were kicked from the game
Disconnected by server!


What does this mean?

I've seen speed hack and "irregular movment" kicks before due to high lag, spamming the timerefresh button, trying to set cl_maxfps 0, and cl_maxfps set too high.

In your case, it is probably just lag and packet loss being tracked as a false positive.

I've seen speed hacks and movement exploits and they resemble extremely high lag well. It's extremely frustrating to try and hit someone that gets stuck in the air at irregular intervals and then their body instantly moves to the last-known(good) position.

My cl_maxfps is set to "90". Is that too high, or should I try "66" or "59"?

The top one is q2admin for sure.  The bottom probably is too, (although the old q2admin codebase that I use doesn't appear to contain the exact string "Response Test Failed".)

On tastyspleen I use a modified version of q2admin to turn all those checks off.  (The source code is available in our public CVS repository.)

q2admin is extremely prone to false positives, and ends up kicking people when they encounter a few lag spikes in their connection.  I wouldn't use it at all, if not for a few features wallfly needs.  So instead, i've modified q2admin to remove its least reliable checks.
