R1Q2: MULTIPLAYER/player setup/model: jthm is the Farthest that I Can Scroll To

  As said above, when I try to scroll all the way to the right in the model settings, the farthest it will go is all the way up 'til jthm (Johnny the Homicidal Maniac).

I had just got in a game with a newly produced jump1.wav for my sonicnew player, ready to test it out, when I heard a male's jump1.wav noise. I looked at the model and it was the sonicnew model, so I wasn't sure why I kept getting the male's sound effects.
I quit and fired up another R1Q2, only this time female model was selected. Oddly enough, when I played as the female model I heard male's sound effects yet again. I tried to scroll all the way back to sonicnew but I keep getting stuck at the jthm model.

I haven't tried to manually set my model and skin yet; I'll try that in a sec'.
Does anyone have any help for this problem?

MODIFICATION: I just tried it and it ended up being the female model that was selected again. And also, the male's sound effects were in play.

edit: yeah, same thing happens to me only I can't see the skins in that little preview window.

Like I said above, that didn't work. It just went to the female model with male sounds.

Should I try to uninstall and then reinstall Quake II and R1Q2?

Alright.
I'm preserving my sonicnew player (of course), my config.cfg, and my maps that I made.
Uninstalling Quake II... now.

Ok! It finished! Let me test it now...
It worked!

...now it's giving me a new error. It kicks me because of a anticheat violation due to an unknown vid_r or ref_vid or something like that.

REAAALLLLY old thread about the same problem. Apparently it results from having one of the xxxxxxx_i.pcx or xxxxxxx.pcx but not both.

So uninstalling and reinstalling Quake II was pointless... <_< It just wasted more of my time...
