Aighty then. For my next birthday im gettin an upgrade, i deserve it! and its bloody well needed, now, if you would take a look at it and suggest where things could be wrong, or improved for not much more than the price tag next to it, i would be grateful, that set up there isnt an athlon 64bit processor, and im wondering, is it worth saving up and getting one, im not sure ya see. it would take a great deal of will power to not spend my pocket money though.... arghh.. help meeee

Man that site sucks, not a whole lot of real info on the products, just a lot of sales hype
Well the motherboard you picked out has a 266Mhz FSB, so you should get PC2100 RAM instead of the PC3200, because it would downclock the PC3200 down to the lower speed or have compatibility problems.
The processor you picked is OEM, meaning it won't come with a heatsink and fan, so don't forget to get a heatsink and fan. I prefer to get retail versions of the processors, that way they come with the heatsink and fan.
I assume you are reusing the rest of the parts from your old computer? Or just haven't decided on the rest yet?
My suggestion would be not to use the built in sound and graphics, but they will do if you have no choice. Using separate graphic and sound cards will take some load off the processor, giving you somewhat better performance.
Don't forget to get a decent hard drive and a DVD drive/burner. Keyboard, mouse, and monitor can be reused.
32 bit will get you by for a while now, you can wait for the 64, by the time 64 bit is a requirement you'll be out of school with a job and will be able to afford it.

Well i was thinking, what else would I need? I already have a sound card spare, Ive got a CD Rewriter in this aswell as the cd drive, so ill use the rewriter, ive got a floppy drive (whats that these days!?) Heat sinks + fans dont cost too much so ill get those with the order (dont forget this isnt till july29th, so my order will probably change some, I didnt think that motherboard had inbuilt graphics on it! but you can get a 256mb Geforce card for

Yes that memory would be better for that mother board. Seems like your all set then, but I'd encourage you to get a DVD writer instead of useing the CD, since DVD's can hold 4.7GB compared to CD's 700MBs. Much more convient to make backups on DVD's.

True true, yet it is more money I havent got, I just enquired about how much id probably get and it only looks like 110 this year
im gonna start saving, hopefully (i get 5 a week) by july, ill have enough for that geforce card, (i know i would if i saved solidly! But skating also has a place in my life, which costs too!) Ahh it sucks being on a budget, but everyones been there I guess! right, one more thing im wondering about solo, will the wires probably come with the motherboard (that are nescacary)? if not, do they cost alot?

IDE cables come with your motherboard
you might also need a newer power supply cus your old one might not have the juice to run all the new stuff

not really that expencive
but it is possible that your power supply could run all that
if it cant, it will probably burn itself out
if you open up your comp and check, your power supply shoudl tell the wattage on it
300w or more should be ok, but anything less then that. probably wont do it

Since you picked an OEM motherboard it may not. IDE cables are pretty cheap though.
Power supplies vary in price, here's a cheap one for you,

One thing that you didn't mention is a case
you will need something to put the motherboard and stuff in.

Would not this one I have now do the trick?
the price is rocketing. specially seen as im only gettin 110 now initially, if i can save up 40 pounds ive got about 150 pounds, the processor inc vat is say 60, memory 30, thats 90, motherboard say 30, 120 already!, geforce card looks undoubtful, might have to settle for a 128mb radeon sapphire. as for the siblings, they may just have to wait! lol
if they want their computer building they can shell out for a case, cheap sound card and.. erm.. monitor keyboard and mouse.. hahaha, well, looks like they'll be using my pc (like they are now) for a while after i get this.. ill just be incredibily protective >: D

128 cards are elite compared to this 16 card! but its only about a difference of ten pounds, and if i cant get it it would suck a bit!
