Hey Quadz,

When do you think you'll add El Paso to the goto listing?

That toolbag was at it again, connecting over and over .... Grand total: 6,296 attempts to date.

I added a blackhole on his current IP, so he can't spam the server with his connect attempts.

(When his IP changes, then I'll add another blackhole if he starts up again...)

Basically the server drops his packets on the floor, no response at all.

I changed the port to 27925, replacing our old wod-x server.  WallFly is there now.

Its official GOTO name is WOD-X, however, GOTO WODX and GOTO WOD will also work.

Since it's not adminned by tastyspleen now, I've moved it to independent-zone.


P.S. out of curiosity, why does the hostname say "El Paso RoadRunner" ?

Thanks for all the help Quadz in bringing this long awaited second WODX server to life 
It shall provide a badly needed alternative to the Whale Eye server, sort of like an altered reality.
I enlisted the help of some good people in order to set it apart in terms of maps and features.

P.S. out of curiosity, why does the hostname say "El Paso RoadRunner" ?

El Paso RoadRunner used to be our old WOD server back in the day.

I'll do my best with the help of Dave and others to bring it to life. So if you have any suggestions for improvement "goto WOD-X" and lets get started

Good thing, once you know what to look for, he's easy to spot. His IP is from Brazil, his ping fluctuates from 170 to 290, and he spews a mixture of English gibberish and swear words.
I really hope this punk would give up trying to cheat and to destroy what's left of this game. I guess some people are just born this way.

console/Quadz could you please enable anti cheat on Whale's Eye like it is enabled now on El Paso. I've tried to mirror all settings across both servers but for some reason anti cheat still doesn't load on Whale's Eye. Perhaps the server needs to be added to some list somewhere? If you get it working, please let me know what I missed...
 

Also whaleseye.com seems to be down, and because of that http downloading doesn't work for our server, so could we use tastyspleen.net for that in the mean time?

You'll need to update the IP for your server in the anticheat allow form on r1ch's forums:

I tried using set sv_downloadserver "http://q2http.tastyspleen.net/" but it doesn't seem to work for weapons.
Would it be possible to add the weapons folder and symbolically link in the env, players, textures, maps... folders?
I have a weird problem after including the http download path, it now totally ignores the files on the server. Is there anyway to use the server files if they're not found on http?
Also it'd be great if I could have ftp access to the weapons folder within this http path so I could upload some new stuff in there if possible.

Salutations -

I've added 'weapons' to our q2uploads FTP, such that you can upload files into that folder, and from there it can be sync'd in to the repository.

(See the "UPLOAD MAPS" thread for FTP info.)


Edit: also, "http://q2http.tastyspleen.net/" should now work for weapons.  (But since there have been no weapons-specific uploads yet, weapons is so far a mirror of baseq2, effectively.)
