This is the first I've heard of it, and I would have heard about it a lot sooner if it were true, I look at the news and go through the forums over at www.broadbandreports.com on a daily basis, and trust me, there are people all over that place that look for any reason to bitch about Microsoft. I think it may just be some isolated rumor.

Dropping floppy support would make it difficult for people who wanted to upgrade to Vista from XP.

i knew people still used floppy drives, but i didint think it was that much
i dont think ill be upgrading to a new windows, even if i can warez it

why? TCPA. i know for a fact that will be in windows vista one way or another

Ya the reason its not such a good idea in windows to run a program while its defragging is cause it scans the drive constantly and if you use files it will take longer cause it has to work around your usage.Not saying you can't do it, just don't think its such a good idea.Thats why I turn my screen saver off then run defrag.Takes a whole lot less time to just let it do its thing.
Floppys? what are those?lol j/k! I havnt used a floppy in a long time.

I believe TCPA is being implemented on the hardware level, so it wouldn't matter what OS you use.

microsoft has said on there new vista page that it will be using NGSCB
which is basicly TCPA

i knew that it will be used on the hardware level
but has it been implemented yet in any new hardware?
gunna need to start making a list of the newest hardware that dont use it

it will be the last upgrades i ever get
im very serious about this, if this happens to the extent that they are saying it is, this will be the end computers for me

heh, dont feel like fragmenting my hard drive, but i do rather post an upgrade of my specs

(yea, im still left behind, and still have 128mb of vram and 40gb of hd space)
